I know.

John is a bit of a diva, he's just like that - he's been in musical theatre for ever, but... the reaction to him is oddly extreme.

I'm becoming of the belief that some elements of society don't want us to move past this issue. For grown adults to be so emotionally moved by words is crazy. At a pinch I could mildly understand a gay man or woman being a bit emotional because of a personal struggle they might have had. But for straight people to act all shocked.. well, its worthy of an oscar performance.

I have a gay cousin that I'm close to and he thinks when these silly shocked over reactions happen on tv that it makes him stand out for his sexuality.

I still think that its a stupid situation were BB knew what Winstons previous statement was before he came in to the series. Unlike Tila Tequila where BB claimed not to have known what she said before. BB seems to be turning in to a left-wing attack dog.”

Completely agree.

I don't know anyone who doesn't know at least a few gay people.

I understand your continuing comments, gayness is very much accepted in general and yet there are still gay men who are trying to make out they are fighting a fight that hasn't been mainstream for donkeys years .

Pride used to be a protest march with the participants putting themselves seriously at risk , now it's a carnival with as many straights as gays.
And good for that.

You're right. Christopher is just cracking on with it. He's said how he feels and that's it.
It's John who seems to be making use of it for a bit of melodrama.

"Why is there still people like that in the world?"
There just is John, grow up will you? You surely didn't have some naive notion that the world was an idealistic utopia did you?

Rubbish!
the reactions are to his shameless overacting and it's proportionate IMO.
Are you suggesting it's motivated by something else, if so do say so, and try for more than "wow"

"oddly extreme"
Really? Just because we had a bit of a laugh at his performance.

It's quite common for people to react differently to things, or are you suggesting that because they are both gay men they should have the same reaction

I'd advise a retraction, you're accusing me of homophobia.

I ignore most of the pettiness on here, but that's an accusation that would be hard to overlook.

"It's all about the love" finished me off.

He's going to have many a 'tormented soul' hour in there I dare say.

I'm enjoying him though.

Did you?

My son is gay - obviously I'm biased but I think he is one of the kindest, funniest and generous people I know. It really hurts me when I know people judge him on his sexuality and can't see beyond that. It is 'ignorance' and I too wish people or attitudes like that didn't exist.

why is that amusing?

My comments had nothing to do with him being gay...I said he was embarrassing and pathetic of which he was.

Because it was so clearly a performance for the audience
An audition if you like for his next role
For screen time, for attention

Nothing to do with him being gay

So forum members aren't allowed to say anything negative about John, and if they dare to, then they're nasty little ds homophobes. Are you serious or just on a wind-up?

Because he was a bit upset to be faced with an out and out homophobe who thinks if he adopted a child it would be 'abused'?

Why is that pathetic?

I see that the witch hunting crowd are out tonight again.

These veiled attacks on people are so transparent. Feigning curiosity as though it's a genuine question which you're confused about. Give me a break.

Would I be attacking hetrosexual people if I compared a straight housemate more favourably to another straight housemate who I suggested was acting?

I dont think anyone suggested that.
However they feel about it is fine. The mirth is due to the impression that John was milking it. therefore nothing to do with his opinions or feelings.
