Thanks, subscribers only though.

Non subscribers, just google the thread title, click the top link, and all will be revealed.

For example, BT Mobile is to be retained as a low cost competitor to their EE acquisition, something that pleases me, for one!

Clickable would normally mean it actually clicks through to the article...

Does this mean BT Mobile won't get access to higher speeds/800mhz/volte etc?

Depends on what you are getting charged in comparison. O2 had GiffGaff as a cheaper product less priority/speeds/slow adoption of new tech, no reason why EE/BT couldn't do it this way.

Ideally though EE needs as many folk on VOLTE as they can in the medium term.

For me as a EE customer hope i get the benefits of BT being on board.. i.e. free Wifi & Free BT Sport. Unlikely in short term though.

There's a good chance it won't, at least in the short/medium term.

That is something I hadn't considered. They want that other 10Mhz of 1800 leaving only 15Mhz for 2G. they also want to get 4G1800 power up and CSFB to 2G.
This will require most to be using VoLTE/800 in the medium term.
Interesting situation.
Maybe BT customers will get the VoLTE/800 but not WiFi calling/double speed/VV etc...

VoLTE isn't a feature to withhold for money like the other three*(wifi calling maybe being the exception) it's just a tool of the network which if used will presumably result in better service for the customers.

Surely though wifi calling would ease capacity requirements by shifting some traffic completely off-net?

BT's takeover of Britain's largest mobile phone provider, EE, is to be given the green light this week in a move that will "transform" the UK telecoms industry, says the Sunday Times.
