What about the theme?
who, me?

Maybe I'm missing something, but a lot was made of the design of the house being 'Dickensian'/Jack the Ripper etc etc. So far it seems there has been no reference to this in anything the housemates have been asked to do. They're just doing the usual stuff as if they were in an ordinary house. Seems a bit of a missed trick. Last CBB the theme was USA vs UK and that ran throughout, pretty much. This just seems so far like set-dressing.

Might come into play later with a task.

I thought pretending that that porridge was 'orrible gruel was like a Dickensian pantomime. Notwithstanding the fact that they were given plenty of it, and it was heaped up rather than being a fluid.

I don't have a a clue what's supposed to be Dickensian, even the house design is nothing like it.
The only Dickensian thing about is the reference to gruel, and that's it.

Exactly - there's all this set dressing which seems to be pointing to a certain kind of 'experience' but so far we've had them eating gruel in boxes, having their furniture crated up, the 'who's done what' quiz (as usual) and now the usual talent comp. Maybe they are saving it for later, but with all the other themes it's been introduced strongly from the beginning (eg Secrets and Lies).

These won't come into play as there hasn't been a shopping task yet.

Wasn't the talent show a shopping task, then?
See, it would have been so easy to just dress them all up in vaudeville costumes, or Dickensian theatrical costumes - but they didn't.

I think they will use the theme for a 3 day task.

I didn't think of that ...so the pub will be a reward sort of thing . I do hope when it does open , Steph has to stare into the pub watching the others drink and party....

Nope. Shopping task is usually during the week and lasts 2 days (used to be 3). The talent show was just a daily task.

Oh right. Hopefully they'll start it then.
