But they haven't done that before. Why would they do it now?

I'm not denying that they're good singers - they definitely are. It's just the quality of the overall sound was too glossy and perfect, meaning they were pre recorded and mimed.

When a mic is moved around in your hand, here there and everywhere, this is reflected right away and can even cause feedback. Only trained professional singers know how to hold a mic steady and calm to get a stable level. Darren's was all over the place but the levels didn't change it all.”

And I have 25 years experience as a live sound engineer. Don't forget they are all wearing lavaliere mics. so the TV sound complete with vocal effects can be taken from there. As for your comment on getting feedback by moving the mic around depends on where the speakers are and even then, with the right EQ, you can stop that happening. I'm pretty sure they were doing it live. There was no reason not to.

Yes - she missed out several lines of the song and went on to the chorus part too soon. she covered it up pretty well though - I'm assuming she maybe stuffed up Daniella's contribution.

As for the microphone malarkey - surely they were just for effect - they wear microphones all the time don't they?

Things change. I'm sure previous so called talents have totally embarrassed themselves with a live performance beforehand and had all sorts of pitch problems.

These are celebrities - T&C's in their contracts will be agreed before they sign up to go in. If singing is a part of their duties, then some may want to make sure that their image is protected and can easily request to have their segment recorded and then mimed for the actual performance part.

Other tasks have been obviously humiliation stunts - this one was different, as it seemed to try and somewhat sell the 'talent' aspect of this years housemates and showcase good performances to impress the viewers.

Err, first of all what reputation does Megan have? She's most known for sleeping around on the telly.

Secondly, she already appeared singing live on BGT, to about 10x the amount of viewers BB has been getting, so why not on CBB?

Reputation as in not being made to look like an idiot on t.v with a bad performance. On BGT, in 2009, she was completely unknown, so that's irrelevant.

Christopher's wasn't. That was all 100% pure Christopher.

Was not impressed by " Bring him home" If you have to drastically change the tune, you should not attempt it

Christopher was excellent, as usual, and should have won.

Yo u could hear some of them (Darren and Megan in particular) drawing deep breaths before high notes - if it had been pre recorded that would have been hidden.

Megan's and Darrens were 100% recorded beforehand - that's showbiz! Not sure why some in this thread find that so hard to believe.”

because then your saying that gest and bowie et al were all in on it.seeing how competitive they all are this series can you really seeing them agreeing to this plus why would darren and megan be given preferential treatment? it makes no sense.

I was shocked by Megan's voice. Though I don't understand why they would want her to sound better than she is ? Like what's to gain

Just watched it again and it all looks live. Perfect miming with audible breathing and minor mistakes if it wasn't. Nah, it's live.

Nah they were singing Live ,the only bit i'm dubious on is the very end (where john,re-introduced them and they all went up on stage),and reckon they had a Number of takes before the producers was satisfied with that scene

And yet it was all still pants

He's just so awful, cringed at his lack of ability to even hold a tune.

If it was pre recorded I vote BB always pre record when they plan to inflict talent show tasks on us. They are usually excruciating and that one was relatively painless, ranging from pretty good to tolerable. Not sure how they decided on that winner though.

They wear a mic so the hand held ones would be for show only
Vicky.

I think they sounded live

There was a massive amount of echo on Megans though...like seriously loads

I thought most were impressively good. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, so whether or not it was pre-recorded is kinda irrelevant - there were some wonderful performances, and with voices and talent like that there is no need to pre-record, lest it be to facilitate better sound balance between the vocals and the backing.

Nah , it was all live , I'm a sound engineer all they did was add some reverb in post production for the edit which made the acapellas sound even more impressive , well done Darren and Megan

Have you every heard Ellie Goulding or Cheryl Cole live, compared to how they sound when its all altered?
