But what does Dan see in Nicola? She is always so nasty to Jimmy and Kerry is much better looking than Nicola. IMHO Nicola would be a downgrade for Dan.
![]() Nothing to do with who you personally perceive to be 'better looking' though.

There are an amazing number of large creatures that keep escaping isn't there?
![]() ![]() Must admit - I'd love it if Moria suddenly decided to start keeping Llamas on the farm - or Ostriches! Beef is so yesterday's meat. |

Tbf to DesperatelyDullDan, (jeepers, what is wrong with me?), but there's no indication so far that he sees anything in Nico. She kind of lunged at him, he didn't exactly lunge back - in fact he looked terrified.

2. IDK, I can't with Moira anymore. I had to make my own thread about it cuz I had too much to say to post it on here.
3. In Moira's warped mind it must 4. I thought Debbie had the magic box since she gets all the hot guys but clearly its Moira. James still wants her after sleeping together once over a quarter of a century ago. 6. Cain wanted to do what Tracy Barlow did to him ![]() 7. Good question 8. Because the plane crash and Kings River Explosion memorials are more importnant ![]() 10. IDK, and if Dan cheats on her with Nicola he is a stupid man. Kerry she go find her someone hot like Ross or Pete 11. IDK, the women on Emmerdale make little sense lately. 13. Cuz 90% of the Dingles have mental health issues. 13) Then they should know what to look for know |

Well leaving aside the fact that most men keep their brains in their trousers (
) it's always embarrassing when the wife of one of your mates suddenly comes on to you out of the blue.Personally, although I know he's 'Dull Dan' in some quarters, I always feel that Dan fills the 'nice, ordinary bloke' role in ED which you need to balance out the psychopaths who seem to be so prevelant. He is the male equivalent of Brenda - bit bland and boring, but necessary for balance. |

![]() On a (semi) serious note though it would be good to see the farm branching out, as many modern farms have had to, into speciality ranges. |

I think this would be a very good description of it were it to happen!
And it certainly was - there has never been any hint that Nicola was looking at Dan in that way. I disagree with that, Wendy is a horrible nasty and selfish woman
Comparing her to Dan is an insult to Dan.I'm not meaning they are 'alike' - but that they both have a role to fill in the overall balance of the show - they are neither the sensational sexy (or so some people think!) Bartons, nor the old-timers (ie Sandy) but are the normal everyday people somewhere in the middle - Bob's the same. |

In what way do you find Brenda horrible nasty and selfish Mark - thoughtless and prone to putting her foot in it maybe, but I can't recall her being nasty as such?

I do agree that she fills a role on the show, I just don't think she's a nice person at all. Bob could do better. |

Still haven't forgiven her for playing the Brain tumour and dead Daughter card excuse for her stealing and shop lifting and then being holier than thou whenever anyone else commits a crime |

Totally agree - of course there has to be that balance of characters, (otherwise they might just as well rename it HollyoaksLite and be done with it). But for me, the bland and boring 'everyday' characters have to be particularly realistic to counterbalance the sheer unlikeliness of the main 'dramatic' characters. I think Brenda is - she fills the role perfectly - but for me the likes of Dan would never in a million years end up with the feisty, edgy Kerry nor would he get sooooo many sls, (mostly unrealistic ones). He should be left very much as a background character imo as I don't think he's even good enough to fill the 'background comedy filler' slots either.

I like Nicola, she's one of my favourite characters and you don't know that she's always nasty to Jimmy as we only see them for a very short time - we don't know what she's like the rest of the time. And what have looks got to do with it? Do you think that people you don't think are good looking are worse people than those who are? If so who would you think is a nicer person - a good looking man who is a serial killer or a more ordinary looking man who has never committed a crime in his life?

I get Cain sleeping in the pub. Chas is the default person he turns too when there's s no one else. He's s probably closer to her than his Dad, for instance ( and Zak would just lecture him anyway, as well as not having a couch
). Really it had to be Chas' or Lisa's s but Chas probably was the instinctive choice, although obviously if the story did not demand it he,' d avoid Charity like the plague So of course it's s plot driven but it's not unbelievable at the same time.

Well from what they've shown us of Nicola she is nasty 99.9999% of the time and its not just to Jimmy. I wasn't implying that better looking people are nicer with my post, I was stating Nicola is nasty and Kerry is better looking so Dan would be stupid to cheat with her, there is no upside getting with Nicola, looks or personality wise.

I know Jimmy and Nicola came first but Sally and Tim do it better. Sally isn't a total bitch and Tim has more than 2 working brain cells.
