I agree on all points. Nicola may not have been in ED for long but Tess certainly made an impact and the way she left won't be forgotten in a hurry.
bib: She certainly did that with Kirin's car.

Mini Synopsis of Ep

Since Aaron wasn't in it and Ross was for only 3 seconds possibly the best ep in ages.

Kirin ran away to parts unknown which is hard to do in real life but dead esy in soap
He only left after writing a whole lot of Dear Kirin letters.
He also to distract Vanessa claimed he didn't like Jiohnny and was leaving to get away from the brat (almost his words.
I think Vanessa might notice when the police arrive looking for him in regard to Tess' Hit and run
He also had a heart to heart with his father in which his long unmentioned sister was unsubtley mentioned.
Then he was gone like a ghost
Bad pennies Zak and Joannie the bag lady returned and got bad moathed by Belle and Sam
Belle also very LOUDLY broadcast Aarons abuse to Zak who got all pathetic and needy to Joanie, why he didn't tell her what it was about is anybodies guess.
Also back from Actorly Paternity leave is David of the Future Skin Cancer Storyline with yet another in a very long line of sill haircuts.
While Josh towered over him with the news that he was about to come the real size giant from Jackand the Bean Stalk at the Hotton Show house
NIkhil and Leyla officially moved in together
Gabby was he usual cheery self while Ashley moped and Laurel is really realy pregnant even if she doesn't think she is.
Ash thought Laurel had turned Loopy lush again but the bottle of booze is bound to be Gabby's.

Paddy was very mopey but who cares about him.

Lol, kwynne - DopeyDurvid will always be thought of to me now as "David of the Future Skin Cancer Storyline".

Personally I don't even like topknots on women but on men they are just seriously ridiculous. If you want long hair, wear it long and proud. If you don't, get it cut. A topknot is never the answer to anything.

Luckily it was just a joke, and his hair will be normal again by tonight's episode.

Analysis of Emmerdale Stoylines

1) Where do you even start with the Laurel/Ashley/Gabby multiple storylines in one storyline, how to untangle them.

A) Gabby has friends repeat Gabby has friends, strange looking friends maybe but friends all the same, the old Gabby didn't have any so where did these come from. Meanwhiile NuGabby looked fairly like OldGabby with her hair tied book.

And yay teenage rebellion storyline we haven't had one of those in soap for about a week, just what we need, of course if anyone had cause to rebel it would be Gabby what with all the awful thinks that happen around her most days.

B The Gabby and Ashley storyline obviously teenage drinking is bad but I thought Ashleys head was about to explode when he was ranting and raving at Gabby, obviously he felt bad about accusing Laurel and his brain is making him crotchety but still.

C) Ashley accusing Laurel of drinking, sorry Laurel no one is going to give you the benefit of the doubt not after the way you behaved when drunk, so if anyone finds hidden bottles of Vodka and Sandy's hip flash is emptying your going to get blames, just accept that/

D) Laurels Pregnancy - to the surprise of no viewers at all Laurel is still pregnant, but why were they leaping for joy, they were talking abortion before it happened.

Any other Thomas Storyline that I missed.

2) Party Pooper Zak and his Dingle Exile storyline. So Zak people are having conversations behind you back and you immediately think its about you, Vain much!! so you immediately go and ruin Lisa surprise party

Sidebar Kwynne doesn't approve of Surprise Parties since to be a surprise you have to pretend that nothing is happening and the person the Surprise is for think they are being ignored, just mean

Mean while Zaks dingle Exile has lasted longer than any previous one on record,, maybe its usually Zak is the first to forgive

3) Kirin running away stortyline
A) The Police bothered to turn up at all since the Character left didn't think the writers would bother
B) Both Vanessa and Rakesh keen to keep this a secret to save embarrassment
C) Please new Emmerdale Producer make PC Swirling and his family regulars.

4) Surely it would seem strange for Paddy and Rhona to NOT go to Tess's Funeral, will bring more attention on Paddy's hangdog i'm really really guilty face look

5) Jai missing storyline, I doubt anybody but Rishi cares much but more importantly where is Georgia.

Talking of Emmerdale Past & Present, there are 2 milestones coming next week.

Next Wednesday, February 24th, will be the 4th anniversary of Roz's guest appearance for John Barton's funeral. The same day looks destined to mark the return of Roz's body-double Leela in Hollyoaks.

Then next Friday is the 40th birthday of our own Nessa actress, none other than Michelle Hardwick! She is in next week according to the Radio Times, so hopefully she will be in next Friday's episode.

Analysis of Emmerdale Characters. Curt and to the point version

1) Paddy - Spectacularly poor acting from him this episode

2) Megan - didn't recognise her at the funeral thought she was some random stranger

3) Rhona - Lots of Shouting tonight as she has appeared to have rumbled the bumbling idiots idiotness.

4) Nihil going away again, can't really see the point in him coming back in the first place. Him going did seem rather sudden as no mention of it until this episode

5) Leyla you can do so much better

6) David -shut up David at least your hair is better, a bit.

7)Gabby being illegally forced to work in a sweat shop my her mean Gramps

8) Loopy Laurel Getting Married, she'll make a fine widows with Ashley's vicars pension

9)Ashley - Do you really want to end your last days with that harpy

10) Lisa wants a divorce, hurrah

11) Cain miserable as ever.

12) Chas - no one cares how Aaron is doing you foul creature.

13) Joannie the witch

14) Zak why are you surprised that Lisa wants a divorce you ran awy to live with another woman

15) Belle looked nice

16) Pierce - a fine taste for melodrama

Weekly Bulletin of the Malt( Shovel)

Tragedy occurs on the Robblesfield road this week as teaching assistant Tess Harris friend of many in the village was killed in a hit and run by a car the Malt can exclusively reveal belonged to Kirin. Kotecha, police are searching for Kirin after he fled the village after stealing his fathers car. The funeral of Tess was held yesterday and was a sad affair..

Good tiding though with news of Engagements for Nikil Sharma and leyla Harding, Laurel and Ashley Thoma and Rosie Brown and Peter Giles we wish them well

Much amusement and a little horror as a sex tape involving 2 members of the village ended up on the internet

Also on the internet is a video that went viral is a video of a cute baby Llama who was gamboling round his field with a couple of lambs, all very cute

The Wildcat that has been living near the village has struck again, it savaged 3 of Farmer Browns sheep before his sheep dogs drove it of

Its is the Malts late winter open say of Saturday everyone is welcome,.

As Paddy & Rhona discussed his affair with Tess tonight, I spotted the irony that 2 1/2 years ago he planned a weekend away with her to try to save their marriage.

Analysis Of Emmerdale Characters

To start with this may come as a shock to readers who think I am entirely negative.

But huge amounts of praise must be heaped on Zoe Henry for her utterly wonderful acting as Rhona, no amount of praise can be too much,

Now see new producer unlike that one tracked mind Kate Oates Emmerdale does have other great characters other than Ross and that other crap actor I shan't waste my time naming.. Give the rest of your cast a chance.

1) Rhona was utterly devastated finding out about about paddy and tess and proper acting was involved rather than just using endless tears and toouching of face which someone else is only capable of,

That slap looked like it might have turt as well.

2) Paddy you bumbling cretin did you really claim that you had never done such a thing before, I'd say your ex wife Emily would say different.

Paddy killed a cow the idiot

In reality Rhona would have him out the door so fast his arse would leave a burn mark but make him suffer Rhona make him suffer real bad.

3) Way to read a room Pearl

by the way who was looking after the poor sick animals this episode.

4) Jai, came, saw and managed to nearly split up Nikhil and Leyla without even trying

rehab huh.

5) Rish dear nobody not even the police cared or noticed that Jai was missing

6) Nikhil very easily led and manipulated, Jai and a few poison words from Megan put loads of doubts in his mind.

7) Leyla obviously she prefers Jai.

8) Still jealous Of Leyla Megan

9 Zak now you realise you have been fully exiled go back to ireland and take that hag with you/

10 Lisa not much can be said about her.

11) Chas and storyline every wishes was long over and barely speaks its name - what a load of crap.

12) Harriet took the news well and moved on to her no doubt imminent new beau, Marlon and I think you could do so much better Harriet.

13) Does Brenda think before she speaks, probably not

14 Ashley and Leyla way too smug for their own good.

Great Analysis, kwynne - I'm glad you enjoyed Zoe Henry's acting Masterclass as much as I did. I hope some of the other cast members watched and learned from it.

Wonder what's happening with Harriet's love life? I thought she was being set up, (however unrealistically), with Bob but now it's looking more like Marlon. As this is still KO's work, she'll no doubt go with Marlon and then cheat on him with Bob and then end up preggers with no clue who the father is, at which point she'll nick Marlon's check pants and Bob's apron and send them off for a DNA test. Sound familiar at all?

I don't think they're setting Harriet & Marlon up.

The big problem they have with Harriet at the moment is she has no-one to really interact with now that she's been split from Ashley.

She hasn't been shown to have developed any friendships with any of the other female characters - she doesn't work in the village (I'm assuming she's still earning her living from being a PI), therefore can't be thrown in with other work related cast members - and with the passing of Shirley Stellfox, her only relative in the village no longer exists.

Without a storyline of her own - she's no reason to exist anymore.

You only have to look at her character in This is England (Various versions) to see how much she is wasted in Emmerdale. Sad really

Agreed - which is exactly why they will give her one, which will almost inevitably revolve around an affair or a love triangle, probs with a pregnancy thrown in in KO's usual stylee.

She was brilliant in TiE. I'm sure ED must have promised her some very juicy sls to persuade her into a soap, (unless, like many other good actors, the phone suddenly stopped ringing for her).

I think the only thing they'll have lined up for her at the moment is Edna's death - although it wouldn't surprise me if they suddenly team her up with one of the guys just so she has a shoulder to cry on at the funeral.

EDIT - in fact - it wouldn't even surprise me (given how strong the connection was between Ashley & Edna) that she ends up crying on Ashley's shoulder - more drama for Laurel & Ashley eh?

Oh please no! There is so much going on with them already. The focus should be on Ashley's dementia not some SL about Harriet/Laurel.

Nah, by then poor Tray won't remember Edna (and quite possibly Harriet either).

His memory seems to be fine at the moment

In fact - I can't remember the last time he "forgot" something!

I agree. What's happened to the little black book he was writing things down in so he wouldn't forget them?

Acting masterclass is certainly an appropriate description of what happened last night. Wow.

She was so good. The actress definitely needed this shake up. She needs to be seperated from Paddy in the future and get some stores of her own. After seeing that I need her to not play second fiddle to him ever again.

I worried when it was announced she would be staying with Paddy for adoption reasons, that she would be weak when she took him back. But oh how wrong I was, she was strong and commanding and I loved it. More please!

I agree. What's happened to the little black book he was writing things down in so he wouldn't forget them?
He is obviously having his memory lapses of screen because seeing it too much will be "boring" and/or "too depressing" for Emmerdale. *Rolleyes*
Either that or being with Laurel back in their old house has created some sort of pocket of energy where Ashley still believes he is living their old life again and is no longer confused.
