Regarding Ashley, I think I had more sympathy for him because, having watched my family deal with my elderly grandparents, my grandparents did the same thing of refusing help under the guise of "We don't want to be a bother". Of course the fuss & bother from the preventable (and predictable) incidents that happened when they tried to cope on their own was many, many times the fuss & bother that the actual help would have been so it was very frustrating. What Ashley did was wrong, but I understand the emotions behind it. Not to mention that Sandy was cruel to him as well.

Andy I am more or less OK with because they've shown him struggling with his anger management issues once in a while since then - it's not something that was magically resolved. Still wouldn't want my sister to date him though.”

That's exactly how I feel about Andy. They haven't tried to gloss over what he's done. He's struggled with it. I am OK with him as a character. But any future relationship sure as hell needs to be approached with caution.

It wasn't a go at Ashleys dementia, I was remarking that Ashley went from your never having custody of Gabby ever again to will you adopt Gabby in the space of one scene, i'd questioning someone with a healthy brain being brainwashed in thos circumstances.

I did have concerns about the word brainwashed though I just couldn't think of another word to use that was better in the circumstances, am sorry if it caused offence.

Is that because he was vile in the past? Or just a dislike dislike? Someone else was saying the same just the other day - they can't get past what he did, just like some can't get past what Andy did to Jo.”

No Pandora hates Ashley and Loopy because they were horrible to Pandora's beloved Harriet.

*titters*

You really should have known better, kwynne. The actual Pot Noodle should be renamed PoisonInAPot, so gawd knows what the cheap version consists of.

As you know, I was and still am saddened that Ruby was written out. The farewell scenes, including Dan dreading telling Amelia, were poignant.

So, Ruby's departure was the worst thing to happen last year.

What's the best thing to happen this year so far? Holly's imminent return? No. The best news this year so far has been Michelle Hardwick as Nessa featuring in her 40th birthday episode on Friday, February 26th!

I have even shared this joy with you all in my 12,000th post, on this distinctive Leap Year Day!

Perhaps coincidentally, my 10,000th post was in an Emmerdale thread last Easter Monday.

Many thanks ONJ!!

After lending my 11,000th post to the HO thread, as a thank you to the ED producers for the above surprise, I wanted my 12,000th post to revert to ED.

Thank you Ian, Bernard, Sorcha, Shirley & Pandora. Thank you for being positive in your memory of Ruby Shirley. I even saw a few clips of her on Friday when watching a few Nessa scenes on Michelle's birthday!

Mini Synopsis of Ep

Gordon visited the woolpack denied abusing his neighbour yet let slip he had done it beofre, threatened Chas, got manhandled by a moronic cook got warned by the police, busy morning in fact
After getting pinned against a wall by Gordon is a moron, a moron, Gordon is a moron Chas worked out that Robert had paif for the new witness.
Meanwhile Aaron had really bad wind which made it look like he was smiling, 5 seconds after the episode he did a huge combined fart/burb. Director was very relieved .
Elsewhere Doug annoyed Eric and the audience
What Diane see's in him is anybody's guess
Rhona and Paddy got their wish for a child despite Paddy being utterly repulsive as ever. then Rhona ripped him a new one after finding out the Vanessa and Pearl thought she was back on painkillers
Very red cheeked Gabby (seriously was she embarrassed, shocked or cold) and shameless Unlucky had to say sorry for angry Eric ( asif he wouldn't go to the police)
Gabby found out lawrence could be strict with her and Lawrence found the secret camera's and thought his grandson was being creepy in relation to Bernice

Its all go in Emmerdale.

Actually kwynne, I'm starting to think this whole adoption thing is not going to end well, or even that it will happen at all. It would send out a terrible message if lying and cheating is all you have to do to adopt a child, so I imagine it will all end in tears before much longer.

(Just as well really - shame for Rhona of course, but ED really really has all the kids it needs at the moment and more to spare).

I guess it will all depend on how much the new producer likes children.

Analysis Centrals most important questions of the moment.

1) Just what was Lawrence and mrs white's (did we ever get her name) exactly relationship?

2 Is Chrissie Lawrence's daughter or some random Mrs White (please find her Name) shagged in some back alley?

3) How come Chrissie has never asked if her father is gay before now.?

4)Will Andy ever stop playing musical houses

5) Is there a point to Aaron the Angst beast?

6) Do we pity poor Robert's sofa for having to put up with Angsty angst angst?

7) Will Robert ever tell the truth?

8) Will Chas?

9) When will Rhona forgive the bumbling idiot and stop cutting of Idiots privates?

10 Has Kate Oates completely taken leave of her senses with even the mere suggestion that Rhona might kiss Moron?

11) Zak and Joanie seem to be in their own show, can they do it off Screen?

12) Can Aaron jump in a lake and vanish please?

13) When will Rebecca arrive.?

14) Will Pearl be happy at Edna's with Harriet?

these question and other may be answered or more likely not in due course.

I always preferred Rhona and Marlon together. They have chemistry. I have never liked her with Paddy.
