Truly superb edition of emmerdale tonight, really pushing the boundaries as a soap. How it never wins anything over the dreary depressing EE in awards ceremonies is beyond me.

Read the posts above, I said it was a great and heartbreaking episode. I will never like Aaron, and I would prefer to see the version we seen tonight.

Considering who wrote the episode I'm suprised it was actually very good, I'm equally suprised she didn't have Aaron discover a cure for Ashley before riding home shirtless on horseback to fall into Roberts arms.

Never mind the fact that all the other actors were replaced too
I figured out fauxDoug nearly immediately (he was exactly as annoying as realDoug so props to the actor) but fauxAaron confused me - he seemed Aaron-ish but I couldn't figure out why Aaron would be in a random church in Hotten and his reflection looked like Carl King. 
I will say though Aaron's handling of Ashley rang true to me once I figured it out. He was the least emotionally invested and tends to be quiet (when not robbing or bashing people) so it was easier for him to handle Ashley.
