The scenes of Aaron showing remorse for Chrissie were few and far between. I wouldn't say he felt nothing about what he was doing to Chrissie but yes he put himself first. I wouldn't say he took pleasure in it. The scene where he "laughed" at Chrissie is the only scene you can argue that with. Regardless of Aaron's affair with Robert it's still different from Paddy's. Aaron can't understand why you'd cheat on someone you are supposed to love. He probably felt the same about Robert cheating on Chrissie.

I agree that what Paddy's doing is wrong - having been a wife in that situation I wouldn't wish it on anybody. However Aaron is being a total hypocrite. If he felt the same about Robert cheating on Chrissie why was he the person Robert cheated on her with? He should have stayed well away but he didn't - he just went for what he wanted regardless of who got hurt in the process just as he always does.

aaron comes from a broken home... he's asked to vouch that this is a stable family this child going to... he knew from before that paddy is reluctant with this adoption and now he knows why... why would he want another child in the middle of a (potentially) splitting family?

he was asked in behalf of a vulnerable child that's up for adoption... that's the agenda... he can't countenance putting a child in a currently unstable family be it paddy's or not

like robert could

I will agree with you that his affair with Robert was selfish, he should have stayed away. Don't get me wrong I loved the storyline and the Robron pairing but if I was judging it for what it is, yes he was selfish. The affair aside I don't see what else Aaron has done to put himself first over everybody else. He has huge loyalty to those he loves. I wouldn't say Aaron was a hypocrite in this situation because it is different. Paddy is adopting out of guilt and bringing a potentially already damaged child into an unstable environment. If Paddy was just having an affair with no children involved, Then you could say it might be hypocritical.

Chrissie has a child, Lachlan who became Robert's stepson when they got married so there was a child involved in the Robert/Aaron affair. OK Lachlan is a teenage child but he's still a child and quite a damaged one. So I'm sorry but I stand by what I said about Aaron being hypocritical.

I agree. I' m sure he did it with good intentions and concern for the adoptive child, but why not focus on getting Paddy to come clean, break off the relationship or else back out of the adoption? Or alternatively not interfere at all? Fair enough he' s disgusted with Paddy but to be so cruel and underhand with someone who has done so much to help him was disgusting. He should have raised his concerns with Paddy, not the social worker, especially as it will cause such worry and stress for Rhona. I don' t care if Paddy' s fallen of a pedestal in his eyes. He' s not a child, he knows that even ' parents' do stuff like that. Paddy' s not perfect and he doesn' t have the answers to everything. I could understand it if Aaron cared about Rhona but he' s never given a stuff about her or Leo..

I wouldn' t have minded so much IH he had wavered over the decision but he didn' t, then there wasn' t even a flicker of guilt. He should have tried to talk Paddy int o not going ahead with the adoption.

Morning kwynne! Gaaah, it's freezing! Went out early to Asda for something in the sale which turned out not to be on sale at all, , and it was -5C in the car when I finally defrosted it enough to open the door.

I really enjoyed Friday's epi for some reason. It's great seeing Pearl have something to do. Robert and Chrissie being civil to each other was nice, if unlikely. Chrissie's hair is awesome and I liked her giving the Sexy but Bad Rakesh the smackdown when he got overexcited. I liked Bob serving Americanos while everyone else was in Major Soap Meltdown. But special mention must go to Adam for hating Mumford & Sons. The man has taste, who knew?

Thought last nights episode was very good. Great last scene with Paddy and Aaron. Paddy knows something is troubling Aaron despite Aaron admitting to giving the bad reference. Paddy knows him too well and the writers always are consistent with that. Chrissie is such an improved character lately. Lovely interaction with Diane. Nice to see Vanessa calm down somewhat over Adam too.

I'm generally appalled by the outbreak of babies in Emmerdale, but got to say, they are all very sweet, and Johnny's no exception. ED seems to have access to an almost inexhaustible supply of cute babies and kids. But can they please stop now?

I genuinely hope that the child situation in Emmerdale is something the new producer prioritises. The sheer number of babies and children in Emmerdale is out of control and not sustainable.

Mind you, I'm not that bothered at the moment. I stopped watching Emmerdale as of Monday because currently, it's a steaming pile of horse shite even Moira herself would baulk at if it covered her fields like it covers the creative fertiliser that is modern ITV.

Oh dear. I still enjoy parts of it, but take your point. All the Pete/Moira stuff is pretty bad, Zak/Joanie is ridiculous, and I don't care about Paddy/Tess either. Or in fact the big new flagship storyline with Gordon and Aaron.

In fact although I like a lot of the characters - Robert, Chrissie, Lawrence, Bernice, Kerry, Cain, Belle, Pearl, Leyla, etc etc, I can't think of any storylines I actually like.

Oh I lie, I like Ashley's storyline, in a tragic kind of way. And I like Nikhil and Leyla together a lot. Think that's it.

You need to come here to Cleveland if you think that is cold, that is about the average high temperature for us this time of year and last January it was really cold I know one day the high was like -10F which is like -24C. It was too cold to be outside for more than 5 minutes.


The Paddy/Aaron scenes were great. Aaron's best relationship is with Paddy, the characters play so well off each other and its interesting to see for once they flip things and have Paddy as the one in the wrong.

Tbf though, you make up for it with much hotter and sunnier Summers than we ever get here, so I guess it's swings and roundabouts.

Back on topic, as regards your beloved Aaron, after last night I trust even you are no longer kidding yourself that his screwing over of Paddy had anything at all to do with his 'concern' for some potential adoptive kid?
It was made very clear it was just Aaron doing what Aaron does best - lashing out at even those closest to him in his usual self-perceived status of permanent victim.

Or one hour or more for the bus as has happened to me a few times lately!! My journey to work is two buses and there are roadworks all over the place which is causing chaos with traffic, resulting in buses arriving when they can rather than to the timetables.
