Aaron's only about 23 or 24; he was still at school back in 2008s episodes.
That would make Chas 40ish , she was a gymslip Mum

The silliest age gap is Emma who is supposed to be about 49,50 and Pete who is supposedly 29. She looks younger than him!

That was correct, but Liv was SORASed and I had posted a clip awhile back that showed Aaron telling Chas he was 14 and in that episode Sandra was pregnant with Liv, so since Liv is 14 that would now make Aaron 28 or 29

Just had a quick check on the ED Wiki and they have birth years for the Bartons as:

Pete - 1987
Ross - 1990
Finn - 1992

They don't have a DOB for Emma though....

So if Pete is 29 and Emma had him at 16 that'd only make her 45, which isn't too much of a stretch since the actress is 44 irl. I think it's only a problem because she is lucky enough to look much younger than that, whereas Pete to me looks quite a bit older than 29. (The actor will be 32 in Oct).

Their birth years were altered after Emma showed up. If you go back and watch Finn's birthday party where they showed the old video of them, it showed that the characters were the same age as the actors. And Pete being born in 1987 is ridiculous, I have a hard time believing he was born after 1980.

I agree about there not being many ED threads but I just don't understand identical and similar posts being on two different threads, eg Kwynne's episode and character posts, but so be it. I'll bow down and accept it gracefully

I agree with you too, I get confused about the discussion thread and the past and present thread. Maybe one should be discontinued and replaced by a SOR thread like Corrie has.

There are three ED threads. The daily " Emmerdaily" which is live as the instalment is transmitted on ITV : the ED Past and Present; and the ED Discussion thread, that normally involves spoilers etc.
All are important!

I'm confused about what you could possibly be confused about. Everybody is free to post on either thread or both threads, their choice.
Kwynne posts his Analysis and Malt Bulletin on both threads to keep both threads current.

If you want a SOR thread you can of course start one - it's not an either/or thing. DS won't collapse under the weight of one more ED thread.

Well I guess I'm confused about the difference between the discussion thread and the P&P thread, they both seem to be about things currently going on in Emmerdale, if the two threads were merged I don't think anyone would notice.

It's only the efforts of Kwynne (multiple postings) that keeps both (rather than just one) of those threads alive.

2) Ashley had the Dementia group - Ashley seemed to learn stuff from his even more forgetful new friend and his wife. But shut up Loopy Laurel.

3) Pierce is very creepy indeed

4) David and his spaghetti meat balls. Should still be in hospital but why is he scared more of Chemotherapy than his actual operation.

emmerdale not doing much for not scaring cancer patients makes Chemo sound like something to be afraid of.

And why is davids storyline being treated like a comedy plot.

Go away new Hollyoaks producer.

5) Brenda - Eff off Brenda you insensitive hag.

6) Ashley and David learning about the hardships of life and things not being all bad from each other bleeuggrrhh so corny

7) Why are the Dingles acting like Belle using protection is a bad thing.

8) Stop snooping for Cain Holly

9) Cain bashed the wrong man over the head, what a surprise yawned kwynne

10) The least said about Emma and Pete's storyline the better.”

BIB: I think its more about her not using ENOUGH protection actually. And quite frankly I can't believe Belle was so blase about it her 'trust me mum I won't catch anything' because obviously (cheating!!!) GP's could/would never catch an STI !

I doubt the sons are that old. Finn I'd say is around 23, Ross 26and Pete 29. That puts Emma at around 48.

Emma has stayed young as she has not had the hardships of bringing up three boys, and all the trauma that entails. She has had the easy life of a single woman, so of course she doesn't have the wrinkles and worry lines that the rest of us proper mothers have. Motor Neurone disease is a serious and painful affliction and should not be used in such a flippant storyline.

It's a throughly nasty disease. Prof Stephen Hawking has a relatively benign version, for MND. A friend of mine was killed by it, 12 months after onset of initial symptoms. At the end, he couldn't even talk, just grunt. He had no movement at all, but his mind was still sharp and active. A really terrible and terrifying situation in which to find oneself.

Agree with both of these posts - ED seems to have lost the plot a bit with the medical stories at the moment - treating David's cancer as an almost joke storyline and now this with Emma pretending to have MND. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

But on the other hand, they are doing Ashley's Dementia storyline quite well I think?

I would notice.

Anyway Oldnjaded only likes the P&P thread so that's the end of it.

Oldnjaded's word is law on this matter
