The ones who are doing big exams break up when their exams finish, usually at the end of June and if they go back to school it's the same time as the others. University holidays are often a lot longer - children of friends of mine break up early June and go back October.

There is talk from time to time of shortening the Summer break even more - making it only 4 weeks and then stretching each of the 3 half-term weeks to a 2-week holiday, to even out the break as there is research which suggests that kids actually regress by about 3 months over the 6-week Summer break and it takes them until the October half term to get back to where they were in July.

In ED though - nobody seems to go to school in any regular pattern at all really - it's just dropped in when convenient.

And most kids wouldn't be able to leave and get a bus home at lunchtime as they see to be able to do at the drop of a hat either.

I'm not surprised they got as far away as they could! They're fed up of seeing their numbers decimated on a weekly basis round ED and are fleeing for their lives. GO LLAMAS!!

They've had that same talk here, I believe California has a set up like that but the rest of the country has the long summer break.

Analysis of emmerdale Characters.

1) Moira - the nerve of Moira, shouting at Holly for something she didn't do, it was hardly Holly's fault that that Moira Blundered into a crack den and haunt of drug deal, then got stuck with a used needle, not was it Holly's fault that she had to have treatment for a variety of Diseases and might have HIV, and surely shouting at Holly is more likely to drive her back to drugs.

2) Holly - got help from Jai and had a debate on what type of treatment was right for her and came to a calm considered decision before she walked into a storm of moira abuse

3) Jai - actually seems to be serious about turning a new leaf and seems a good friend to Holly, how soon before she misinterprets and tries to seduce him which is what always happens in this type of Storyline

4) James almost as wooden as Robert from Corrie.

5) Rakesh - how soon before he borrows that money from Rishi and then gambles it all away to Pierce before the end of tonight's ep or Monday?

6) Priya - give up Priya Rakesh just isn't worth it.

7) Rishi - don't give the money, Rakesh will have you Bankrupt as well in no time

8) lawrence has got a chip on his shoulder the size of the moon, his repression is so intense that its a surprise the sun doesn't burn out

9)Chrissie just ignore lawrence for a while he will eventually come round, possibly.

10) Shut up Joanie nobody cares about your stupid wedding least of all Zak

11) Zak obviously wants to get back with Lisa but is stuck with Joanie. and he has been poaching again

12) Elle si obviously there to give Belle's fevered mind a sounding board

13) Shut up Lisa.

14) Does Harriet really have Weddings coming out of her ears or does she think Joanies as much a waste of space as we all do.?

I agree with you and Alley about Jai and Holly too. As long as we set up a mental road block in our minds about Jai's character thus far and Holly's acting thus far, I find it all very believable and engaging.

Holly and jai are better off being drug buddies than anything else, i'm surprised no one has thought of jai being her NA Drug Sponsor yet.

The worst bit for me about the Holly stuff is what we now know is coming for Moira and Cain (sometimes I really hate Emmerdale )

1. You know all Moira had to do was read the texts from Holly's plug and she would have seen Holly never replied. That could have solved this whole thing real quick.

Mini Synopsis of last nights ep

Stuff happened this ep, continuity still exists from one producer her to the next who knew.
Couple Tedious otherwise known as crybaby and Robert were ultra tedious and Aarsewipe moaned and groaned and whined until Robert told theAarse who shot him
Did Crycrap go and hit Dross no he went and hit the person WHO DIDN'T hit him
Andy didn't beat the crapbaby to death like he should have and also got it in the neck from Chrissie.
Lawrence was still being annoying and evicted the newly returned and lovely looking Bernice from her premises also probably evicting Leyla and Moria who share the building at the same time, can someone hurry up and blow up Lawrence.
Moira seems determined to go about getting Holly back on the drugs, all the shouting and melodramatic guilt trips are hardly likely good for her continued abstinace. For instance the doctor said HIV infection was very unlikely yet Moira was acting like she had full blown aids.
And Cain is back so that's likely to go well
Nicola is being treated by Dull Dan so is likely to stay partly paralysed forever.
And Card Shark Pierce totally destroyed Rakesh at cards took all the money he doesn't have which he should have been giving to Emma and James.
Too make matters worse Rakesh totally wrecked his trouses and scraped his knee's to glory by falling dramatically on a gravel driveway.

BIB: This was my favourite part of the episode. I don't like Rakesh and am so pleased all that smugness has come back to bite him on the bum Good for Ronnie for not going along with his plan to carry on and pretend there was no dry rot.

I loved Pierce the Card Sharp - is there no end to the man's talents...? Hopefully this Rakesh rubbish will end soon now - yet another character who started off so promisingly but has gone all weird the last few weeks.
