And Angie being estranged from her son, and him from her, I doubt he'd need her now any more than he has prior to now .

It's sad for Angie , any mother, not having been able to reconcile with her son after so many years, must be heartwrenching,but she may have tried , and it may be him that doesn't want to, we don't know the whole story.

She doesn't care about David it seems but she's been bad mouthing him non stop maybe she'd feel like a hypocrite if she went or if she doesn't get along with other family members.

At least she has time in there to reflect and chat away to David Gest about her memories, i'm surprised she's staying, but guess they were together many many years ago, 35 or something like that, it's her son I imagine who's forefront of her mind , but she's pretty powerless there too, as she's not part of their circle , so perhaps staying in that house will be therapeutic for her.

I'm not the one who brought this up, I was responding to another poster who claimed that Michael Jackson was more influential in the music world than David Bowie. Whilst there is no denying that Michael Jackson was very talented and probably more popular to the younger generation, David Bowie has been far more influential in the music world.

I think out the two, MJ's music has fans who span generations- his music appeals to all ages

both were unique and you can tell MJ's and Bowie's distinctive voices immediately, never confusing either of them with any other artist.

I don't know if she married him as David Jones or David Bowie to be honest. So if you have inside knowledge fair enough. I only have sources such as Wiki which says he changed his name in 1967, met Angie in 1969 and married her in 1970.

It also says she had an immediate and far reaching impact on his career, which marginalised and frustrated his manager at that time. It does suggest she did more than keep his belly full and his socks washed.

I disagree. There has been no contact between the two in decades.. and this is a JOB for her. She is one of the celebrities who likely went in for the payout.. and needs the money. There is no reason for her to leave - she won't be invited to the funeral...and she hasn't spoken to her son in almost 30 years.


That's not surprising. Although they've been divorced for 35 years and aren't on good terms - I am sure it hurts.. but why would she leave the show because of it? Wouldn't she forgo her fee, if she left? Does anyone think David would have given up gigs if the opposite happened (she died)? Of course not.

The only reason to leave - would be if she still had a relationship with her son, but since she doesn't - there is no need.

I am sure Angie under her hard exterior she will be deeply sadden by his loss. I hear that she is staying in the house, maybe she wants to be surrounded and supported by her housemates at this time, although I hope she eventually decides to leave soon and faces the current out pouring of grief that is now out there. I understand what you are saying but disagree with it. Firstly because he did have a mother figure. If you stop seeing your parent at 14 it doesn't mean you don't have a parental figure it means you have one with whom you have issues or problems and are t seeing. Your feelings towards an absent mother are still real.

And a stepmother entering your life in your 20s is unlikely to be a mother figure. By your mid-20s you are too old to adopt! or to imprint on someone!!!

I know your a fan but they are family and it really has nothing to do with David anymore. He's dead and even when alive one parent doesn't have the right to bar another except under certain circumstances. . I think those circumstances existed - but believe she had been clean for awhile.

It's about how the son will feel facing the fact that he has lost his main parent and whether he wants to give his only surviving one another chance. IIman had nothing do do with it either. She's not his mother or even related anymore. The link between then is dead

If she is genuinely grieving i cant imagine a worse bunch of people to be surrounded by. Look at her behaviour yesterday. After tiffany gave her a tongue lashing she went into a massive huff and took her frustrations out on gemma and daniella. Surely if she was that bothered she would leave and be with her real friends.

I agree with you totally. I don't understand the people who made out it was a foregone conclusion that she would leave the house when she was told he had died. David Bowie had a different life and family and I am sure none of the present family would want her getting involved in any way. I'm sure Angie would be shocked but I am certain BB would allow her to spend time alone if she preferred.

I hadn't realized he had cancer or was sick. RIP an incredible, influential musician and artist. He must have touched hundreds of millions of people in his lifetime.

rip david your songs were part of my teenage years. funny how people are coming out of the woodwork claiming to have known him personally. from what I understand he was a very private person off stage.

Maybe she wants time, and to be somewhere where the papers can't chase her ? We'll have to wait and see what she says I dare say.
