As I understand it Flora his family weren't invited. That may have been agreed before hand as Calamity says but I do think that service of committal (or secular equivilent) is an important event in the grieving process. But as Calamity also says we are all different and if his family didn't feel the need then thats a matter for them.

Well again I am not sure he did like the limelight. Perhaps he liked being creative and obviously wanted that creativity to see the light of day. But I wonder if his off manner when doing interviews was actually shyness. Sometimes he could appear quite churlish to the interviewers as if he resented the questions and even having to be there.

Never took much notice to be honest of interviews with him... maybe he was quite shy... and why he liked all the outfits and makeup...

I think he was reclusive and hated the spotlight in the last decade or so of his life. He's well known for keeping his private life private. The funeral decision is in keeping with that.

Yes he does seem very at home there. Perhaps he got more comfortable as he got older.
