You are throwing a dinner party for yourself and five other guests.

You have your own TARDIS and so can invite any Doctor Who character from throughout the Doctor's travels - anyone apart from the Doctor himself (in any incarnation). He's too busy saving the universe.

So of all the companions, villains, monsters or other characters who have appeared in the show since 1963 (whether they survived meeting the Doctor or not) which five would you have at your table and why?

For me, my five would be as follows:

Missy and The Rani.
Purely for sport. It would be hilarious to see the Rani facing off with an even pottier, female version of the Master. She could barely stand him when he was a slightly more sane man.

Turlough
I would time-scoop him from this exact moment in time and refuse to lend him any trousers for the entire meal.

Captain Jack
Just to make sure there's no chance of the evening getting in any way boring. Turlough's in for an interesting night #SlashFiction

River Song
She'd have to read sections from her diary. And would probably flirt with everyone.

I choose metacrises doctor as he wont be busy aswell as Donna, Sarah Jane, Captain Jack and Rose and Mickey but I can't squeeze him in.

Jamie McCrimmon
I've never known anyone dislike him, he's just one of the most likable companions ever and he's a definite must for company.

Leela
Because it would be entertaining seeing her try to adapt to civilised customs and being oblivious to her awkwardness.

The Brigadier
Because he'd get a little taken aback by Leela, which would be very amusing, but also because he'd have some good stories to tell.

Frobisher
I don't know if comic strip/Big Finish characters count but I love penguins and any excuse for sea food is good to me.

Jago and Litefoot
They only count as one because you can't have one without the other. They'd be very entertaining to have around though and I'm sure Litefoot knows how to make a dinner party great.

Also, Leela would have to bring her K-9, he can eat from the dog bowl and watch Brian Cox.

River Song: just because I imagine she'd brighten the room, and she'd likely have some great diary exerpts. Plus I'd like to ask about Jim the Fish.

Clara Oswald: just really friendly, and if it's anything like her family get-togethers at Christmas I'm sure it'll be great fun too!

Missy: because nothing makes a dinner party better than a murderous lunatic ready to unleash all manner of anarchy!

Donna Noble: "Just 'cause!"

...and I thought maybe Davros because there's always that grumpy, bald relative. But he really would be a party-pooper, so...

Strax: Because he'll have some superb one-liners, and will probably delight in prepping the whole thing for me too.

Peri-Obviously, with any leopard outfit she cares to choose, if not a bikini.

Polly-Just to make the coffee and demonstrate some awesome headgear.

Kamelion-So he can impersonate everyone

The Brigadier- Bit of a P**shead really. Likes his red wine and apparently he rather fancies a pint.

Jo Grant-What an entertainer. Chats a lot, loses things, really hyper. Imagine what she'll be like after a few sherbets!

I'd be tempted to have Clara and 3 Clara fragments (say Oswin, Clara Oswin from The Snowmen and the one from Gallifrey in NOTD). 4 Claras
