Maybe that's the problem for UK TV companies: it has many more female fans than male so it needs to be on a channel with a female-skewed audience. (I'm male and I like it, though). |

In my curious googling about the show getting a fifth season after all, I unintentionally learned how season four ends. I'd resigned myself to not watching it as I don't have Sky Living but now that has made me want to see it! I hope Amazon Prime will have it available at some point.

Just subscribe to Sky if you want much better TV. You get what you pay for. I would be lost with council tv only (: |

For those of you lucky (or rich!) enough to have Sky Living, season 4 starts tonight at 10pm.

A solution for those Nashville fans who don't want to be suckered into paying for a full overpriced $ky subscription is Now TV (still a $ky product, but much better value.)
It is a no contract internet delivered service in which for £6.99 per month you get access to all the Sky entertainment channels, plus loads of their box sets and catch up TV. On some Smart TVs it is an already installed smart app. But if, like me, your Smart TV doesn't include it, you can buy a Now TV box for £15. Better yet, there are offers on Amazon, and probably elsewhere, in which you get several months worth of entertainment vouchers for little more than the price of the box, which makes the hardware effectively almost free. One drawback is that there is no record facility, not too surprising I guess on such a cheap box. (Also it's no doubt part of their strategy to try to snare you into a full subscription.) Worth a look. I got mine yesterday, just in time for the last repeat of S4.1 It was easy to install and works fine, within its limitations. ( 4.2 first airs tomorrow. ) |

Nobody's having a good time in Ep. 1, are they?
Juliette's ruder than ever and on a fast track to complete meltdown, with Avery left holding the baby; Rayna's new label isn't doing well; Deacon is tormented by guilt regarding his comatose sister; Will is miserable 'cos he's been laid off by Luke and doesn't feel comfortable being 'out'; Scarlett and Gunnar are still lovelorn, and even lovely little Daphne was rude to Deacon this week. Can only get better from here..... |

Bit lonely in here....
Well, I was wrong about it only getting better, it's still all doom and gloom, and very little music either. |

I was in tears for most of that episode. Not sure Teddy suits the beard look.

Another dark episode last night. Knowing Hayden's personal issues she must have found filiming season 4 hard.

Awww, that's not kind, Layla loved him, bless her, and he was even beginning to grow on me (a bit.)
I inadvertently found out Jeff was for the chop some months ago when I checked YouTube for S4 songs. Layla gets a great song out of his demise. But now yet another person gets to be unhappy - although hopefully Scarlett and Deacon will start to cheer up soon. |

I didn't expect Jeff to be written out that way!
That will impact Luke's wholesome brand - his CEO falling off a roof saving his label's star from a drug-related death. |

Great roof design - umpteen stories up and a ledge about 8 inches high around it!

All I would say to everyone who is currently watching/catching up with Season 4 is to bear with it. There is a reason it got cancelled and those are likely to be your main gripes as the series continues. There are still some good bits but, yes, the season as a whole isn't great.
That said, the creators have stated numerous times that they were pulled in a direction they weren't completely happy with and are now set on rectifying things. They have new writers in for season 5 and plan to get back to focusing on the music industry more and less on the soap opera nature of season 4. Can't wait for season 5!! |

I hope you are right.
So far in S4 there has been too much anguish and nowhere near enough good music. |

I am enjoying Nashville but it's turning more and more into dallas and less about the music. Hayden though has been fantastic.

I've still got to watch the final two episodes of Nashville because it just turned into total soap and nothing to do with the music.

This season has been exhausting to watch (watching at UK pace) - everyone seems to be in such a rush to get from one place to another - a gig, a studio, a party, a crisis etc. Thought we might have seen the Gunnar/Scarlett and Rayna/Deacon storylines calm down for a while this week, but no, they threw spanners in the works straight away again.
