So how would it work, if she hasn't given permission? She's decided to stay in the show. Does she imagine they won't show her grief and not care enough to ask? Or do you think she denied permission but BB's going to show it anyway?
Anyway, I think that viewers who think what BB's doing is wrong shouldn't watch, or else they're complicit. They should put their viewing time where their mouth is, so to speak. |

It's interesting to see where people draw the line. The letters from home, for example, are always exploitative, but no one seems to mind.

But they should hide that particular bit of reality?
It's just sad that C5 chose to show her grief as there tune in tomorrow highlight. |

I don't like the letters from home, they are a complete waste of air time, once again for ratings. I make myself a coffee while the letters from home are aired, don't watch them at all
![]() I'm with you on that point, it also breaks the no contact with the outside world rule which was broken years ago and forgotten about by producers sadly. |

I have a suspicion Angie will be using CBB as much as they're using her
We'll have dramatics , the other HMs will be treading in egg shells....and she will be allowed to be more grumpy and weird than usual..... |

"Someone died, how can we use this"
I'v not seen the trailer yet but from the sounds of it... it's a bit yucky. |

Wait a minute!
Some people seem to be saying that what's wrong is the trailer. It's ok to exploit her grief in the actual show, but not in promotional material. Is that really where some people are drawing the line? I suppose it is one way to rationalise watching the exploitative episode while still feeling that you're not complicit. I don't think it really works, though. |

Don't blame Channel 5 for it. She is either part of the show or she is not.

I haven't said what I think about it either way, all I am saying is that I hate it when people say things are fact when they have no proof whether it is or not. Something that you yourself have said often enough in past BB's, so I'm not sure why you are taking issue with it now ?
Perhaps there is some other realistic possibility, but if so, I don't know what it is. |

Mostly because I think she has in fact given permission, either explicitly, or implicitly by agreeing to remain in the show.
Perhaps there is some other realistic possibility, but if so, I don't know what it is. I'v no objection to BB covering Angie's grief as i expect they'l edit the footage with uncustomary (for them) sensitivity. Not sure how i feel about exploiting Bowie's death for ratings though and it seems that way, the trailer makes it seem that way... Dunno. It's a new one for me. |

Out of respect for the Bowie family shouldn't she do the decent thing and leave? if she's really that upset she wouldn't be able to continue with this process.
she said herself, she hasn't seen Bowie in years and years What can she do on the outside anyway ? she can't go to the funeral , she'd not be invited or welcome and probably has no intention of going anyway, she may as well stay in the house and get on with her plans, she can still feel upset and nostalgic about Bowie while in the house , and by staying in, it keeps the press here in this Country away from her for a bit , as she's just said on BBBOTS You suggest she doesn't really genuinely 'feel sad about his death, she no doubt does and will for a while, but she can deal with it her own way. |

Hardly comparable to a death is it?
Anyway, at first this thread saw tomorrow's show as going too far (tonight's show by now) -- hence the thread title "TOMORROW: Angie's grief exploited for ratings". But, perhaps since genuinely objecting to that would entail not watching it, on pain of being complicit, a different line began to predominate: it was the trailer that was going too far and exploiting her grief in the show itself was ok (even though that's when the ratings would happen). |

I think she has done the right thing to stay in the house. DavidBowie was her ex husband she hadn't seen for decades and her son for 14 years who is an adult. We don't know if the family even wants her at the funeral. If she left the house she would be inundated by the media with questions.
I can see why she decided to stay in the house, as she said she feels an era has gone, she does care. I hope she is OK! |

Tomorrow's show full of fake tears all round. From celebrities who mostly were clueless as to who the ex hubby was. Tomorrow they will all suddenly become lifelong fans and grieve as if it was their grandad. Oh well at least they weren't on telly shagging when he died.
