C5 did nothing wrong.

The clip we saw showed that she had already been told. She was told in private and have them the permission to film and broadcast the bit in the DR.

Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know how TV works. When it comes to this stuff, TV need to obey the rules as they would get sued. But permission was given.

people are thinking it was revealed the way indian big brother revealed the cancer news to jade goody but it wasn't.

someone else (agent or something, can't remember) told her OFF CAMERA and then the aftermath happened in the diary room

Permission doesn't mean it's perfectly ok for BB to do what it's doing.

Exactly! THAT was wrong because it was told to her and viewers saw

Angie told off camera
http://bigbrother.channel5.com/angie...l-remain-house

she must have given permission for them to air her DR reaction.

No use telling people to hold their horses, they're already off on one about it. BB fans are the most unsatisfied, hardest to please there is out there. Any opportunity and they'll jump down C5's throat to bitch and bitch about the show.

It may be tasteless but it's not wrong in TV production terms

Perhaps, but those aren't the most important terms.

At least if her reaction is shown it'll stop folks speculating & second guessing.

I have to agree with this point on a general basis.
The people in that house are often not bright and they are in a very altered environment.
Getting their permission to do something unethical or tasteless doesn't mean it ok.

Them showing it isn't the problem for me, it's them using it to promote tomorrow's show that is the problem. They haven't done a preview for an episode all series, but they happen to do it when David Bowie dies and his ex wife breaks down over it........surely you can see how low that is.

End of HL show tonight wasn't easy to watch

There was sincere grief there on Angies part , and people who have lost ex's would relate to this.

Im glad that she decided to let it air

I dont give a damn about the show at the minute --- its a scripted pantomime anyway, however housemates have emotions, and this one time, true emotion showed

I think the feeling she would have is regret, and wishing that she had said this, or done that, 0r not said, or done, or been able to say bye bye

Im shocked no one has expressed sympathy for poor Iman in the media

I do hope Angela re-bonds with her Son Duncan, for the sake of her future grand children

The issue to me is, using Davids death as promo for the show with the clip they showed at the end. No need and very distasteful.

still doesn't make it right, exploiting David's death and his EX wife for the sake of ratings

What will you do to avoid being complicit? I think the least people should do is not to watch the episode that's being promoted in that way.

They still should have had the decency not to want to show it, though. That's the point. Angie had just been told some fairly shocking news, I doubt she'd have given much thought to whether or not it was to be shown on TV. In her situation, who knows what we'd have said.

She was genuinely upset.
Her saying "its the end of an era" was about as truthful as you can get.
I really feel for her.

CONFIRMED by @bbuk:

"For those asking – Angie was told the tragic news about David Bowie off camera by her agent, then spoke to BB about it in the Diary Room."

I fail to see what they were supposed to do - its not exactly something they could just skirt over.

A couple of posts mention how their sympathies are with Iman - of course everyones are with his immediate family of Iman, Duncan and Lexi...

I don't think Angie milked it - although I personally wouldn't have stayed in the house if my ex died, but I think her reaction seemed genuine shock and sadness mixed with pointing out herself they hadn't seen each other for years

I hope BOTS doesn't make it all maudlin and ruin me actually being nice about their sensitivity now

Spot on. As you say, Angie just had some shocking news. Is anyone capable of making a calm, well thought out decision like that in those circumstances? She may very well regret it afterwards. She may not, but still BB doesn't give a damn clearly. I wouldn't be surprised if some soulless producer spent 10min talking her into it off camera.
