I cannot believe that Channel 5 could handle this so badly for their own ratings gain. Words fail me! As soon as Angie stated in the diary room that she was staying it was their responsibility to announce the news to the house.

When I read the title I thought you meant broadcasting Angies immediate reaction after being told about David Bowies death.

A celeb/celeb culture led tv channel in blatant urge to get viewers shocker.

Angie told David Gest and John not to tell the others. Perhaps she didn't want the others to feel sorry for her and/or behave awkwardly.

How would it get more viewers unless they advertised that something was going to happen? It's pretty much over, so nothing more to see about it.

They don't have anybody to keep them buoyant in this seasons show.....

It's REALITY show... They broadcasted Angie's reality. I don't believe it was entirely exploitive and they focused on Tiffany rather than devote the show to the Bowie drama. I think it was handled appropriately in that respect. They were happy to show her comments regarding her ex husband before his death and think they could have dedicated the show to Angie's reaction and they didn't. I think that's easier to swallow to be honest.

aye but tells tiff (we all know whats she's like) and when she was shocked and stormed off ranting about breaking the news to the others about david being dead, she didn't stop her and say it was bowie but at the same time guest was in his bed ill, sorry the whole thing stinks from channel 5's end just for ratings.

That isn't up to them to do that though, that is Angie's choice.

I've never bought into the conspiracy theories that the show was fixed until this series. There was a bit when Angie and Tiffany argued in the talent show where Tiffany started to laugh that I thought this doesn't feel right.

Tonight was amazing TV but I really feel now that it was fake and pretty low if it was. Let's face it it was a scene that Only Fools and Horses would be proud of but I've watched it a few times and now I've stopped laughing at it, it just seems really planned.

Angie goes to the diary room and is in there for a while. Whilst in there John and David would have been called in by BB whilst she's still there. All the housemates would have heard that and after so many series they always think that there are tasks happening, even after the box task Jonathan had been shown to have been part of. yet no one knew anything was up.....

Angie, John and David could have been briefed and it feels weird to me that the two asked to support Angie then disappeared. In the real world if David had felt ill, wouldn't John have said "look, I need a quick shower, I will be five mins and then you can go to bed". No they both left the woman that had received bad news to sit and fester on her own with people that she doesn't know well.

Angie has threatened to leave and didn't take the opportunity to when she could have.

Then Tiffany gets told, despite them being mortal enemies the other day and Angie is deliberately unspecific. Ok when John and David G came into the diary room she only said "David has died" but it worked then as both would have known/known of David Bowie. Surely after a week Tiffany, if she had been such a fan of Bowie, would have revealed that to Angie. If she hadn't surely Angie would have clicked that Tiffany thought Gest had died and not Bowie.

Tiffany was told but didn't question much about what had happened, she just went into extreme shock - ok I can understand that as the house and housemates become their whole life. Angie also made it sound like David had just died, leading to more confusion. Tiffany didn't question David had come into the house with cancer or what had happened to his body, that he had died so suddenly, or even question that it was David Gest. Angie didn't question Tiff's extreme reaction to her ex's death or click that Tiff had got it wrong. Angie would have heard Tiff telling them David had died as she was still faffing around saying she had made a mistake.

David Gest also conveniently was wrapped up like a corpse at the exact time that this was happening to add to the mystery. Normally he'd be sat outside with Darren and Dani having a fag or and this really surprises me - even a sick David would not have passed up the chance not to sit quietly with Angie and talked about David, he loves being in the thick of it! John was also no where to be seen to clarify what had happened and didn't think he would be needed to keep an eye on Angie when his role has been cast as the house dad? Also with 15 housemates in the house no one was in either the kitchen and living area, they were all dispersed to allow Angie and Tiffany to have that confused moment.

When David's "Body" was found, no one seemed to click it could be another David or calm things down. Even Darren admitted he thought Gest was dead but he, or no one else, understood the possible shock that Tiffany first would have felt that her housemate was dead, or the fact that Tiffany may have been angry that Angie may have played a sick joke. Everyone seemed more keen that Tiffany was ejected - what for a mistake? Yes, Tiffany over reacted but they all acted similar when they thought David Gest was dead, she all ran around screaming. There's either so much we didn't see and haven't seen about Tiffany to cause this - or it was so heavily planned that they all stuck to the script,

I've never felt BB was this heavily manipulated but now things just don't add up,

I didn't realise that Tiffany thought it was David Gest, so why would Angie? It was a complete misunderstanding, but I don't think it was set up. BB could have stopped it getting out of hand though, but preferred to let the drama unfold.

Remember in the diary room Angie invited John and David to share the news and be her support. She herself stated she did not want anyone else in the house knowing. Then when she left the diary room it was Angie herself who told Tiffany. Looked to me as she was dying to tell anyone who's was there, Angie is a player and an attention seeker not grief strike sorry.

1. bb informs angie that bowie has died
2. bb sends for john and david into the DR
3. angie tells both not to say anything to the others
4. angie tells tiff that david has died (yeah david has died)
5. while this unfolds, david is in the bedroom with a mystery illness (sure he is)
6. while tiff is ranting and raving about david being dead, at no point does angie inform tiff that shes talking about her ex and not that guy with the mystery illness who is in bed asleep
7. tiff tells the others that david has died, while angie keeps going on about how she messed up and still doesn't inform tiff that its bowie and not guest

There was no way Darren day /Jonathan or Christopher moloney was in on it as their faces showed genuine shock and confusion

This conspiracy your proposing goes way beyond subtle manipulation by the producers though doesn't it? I mean, this would involve every single person being in on it... It basically means the producers calling the housemates together, including David Bowies ex wife and saying, "Right, listen David Bowie died a couple of hours ago... Yes, I know, very sad, blah blah blah... BUT we've all had a really great idea... Now, we're going to have to work quickly so everyone sign here... You too Angie... Okay, THIS is what we're going to do..."

So you must think that they were all acting? Do you have any idea how difficult acting is? Just look at Keanu Reeves career. He's been a professional for 30 odd years and still can't act for toffee.

There is no way that was set up. I'm sure other stuff has been and will continue to be set up by BB, but if they were all acting then somehow, a group of the finest actors the world has ever seen but not known about has assembled in the CBB house and produced some of the finest performances you will ever see. John Partridge must be in the form of his life!

Lets assume they were all acting, it would take more than a day to shoot that. Films take months to film, a complicated set up like that would have needed tons of direction, rehearsals, and multiple takes.

If it was then everyone involved is completely wasted on BB, the writers, directors, actors, everyone. Can you imagine the quality of work they could produce with a Hollywood budget if that's the calibre of work they produce on a crappy reality TV show?

For all the manipulations and ploys that the producers and editors get up to with this show, one thing is undeniable and not manipulated but pure fact. David Bowie passed away unexpectedly on Sunday. He is the father of Angie's son. Even if they have not been in touch for a long time or aren't on good terms, it remains David Bowie was her husband once and the other is her son. Death focuses the mind. The whole world has been stunned by Bowie's passing. Angie will be grieving, and in shock, not playing games.

Channel 5 have sunk to a new low with CBB over this. They cannot hide behind the defence that Angie was told off camera the bad news by a representative. They still showed her clear shock and grief afterwards on her return to the diary room, and in the wider house. Her mind would have been all over the place with thoughts. Never mind the fact that Angie agreed to go back after hearing the news. Channel 5 should have acted more responsibly and with more class. They have used the clear grief of the woman for pure entertainment purposes tonight whilst also trying to make out they hold the moral high ground over the issue.

When it was clear a misunderstanding had occurred BB did not even deem it urgent to intervene to rectify the situation as quickly as possible, clearly relishing the fallout that would entail. Very unedifying.

This has just shown yet again a huge difference between C5 and C4 BB. There's no regard for the housemates, drama comes first. They handled this awfully, sending Angie back in and forcing her to either try and keep it to herself or tell everyone and keep reliving it. When they saw how affected she was, they should have told the whole house, I mean they get outside information in the form of tweets on a seemingly weekly basis these days so outside information given to the husemates to support Angie would have been fine. I know Tiffany was out of line but BB was pretty much asking for something bad to happen with the wau they handled it.

LOL! Yes, she had no choice but to either tell them or not tell them. No choice at all.

BB should not be trusting the housemates to handle something like this.
This is a strange environment where the contestants are competing with each other.
BB should simply think about what the right course of action to take should be.

Which in this case should be asking Angie if she wants to keep it to herself (no other housemates involved) or whether she would be okay with BB telling all the other housemates together on the sofa in order to avoid situations such as the one we witnessed last night.

Why BB think it's a good idea to trust competitive housemates in an environment where they are emotionally, intellectually and morally compromised in all sorts of ways is beyond me, It's utter madness. Just like they trusted James Jordan to look after Gary Busey.
It's like putting Dracula in charge of the NHS blood bank.

BB are the ones who have a duty of care to the housemates. The housemates do not. The onus is on BB to decide how to deal with situations such as this.
BB should have ensured that they didn't create a situation where Chinese whispers could occur, and should have given Angie better advice on how the other housemates should find out.

It was bloody hilarious though.

BB should have advised her that to take this decision was a recipe for disaster.
It needed clarity and not information gradually seeping out throughout the house which was bound to end up getting confused or distorted. If it wasn't Tiffany it could have been somebody else. Even Jonathan was adamant that David Bowie hadn't died.

I remember that in Big Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother, they seemed to handle the situation with more due care when it was revealed that Jade Goody had cancer. They asked Jade about whether she wanted to keep it a secret or not, and it was decided that Jade told all her fellow housemates herself when they were all sat at the sofas. I don't know if Jade decided to do it that way or Big Brother did, but it seemed like the correct course of action to take.

They did. At the end of the previous night's show with a 'coming next on tomorrow night's show' trailer.
