That's what I noticed in tonight's show.
The first time when he said people learn to move on he himself said that the solution was that Tiffany must go. But when he approached Tiffany he said that it was everyone else who wanted her to go.
The second time Christopher, although he meant well, made a hash up of it and told the group that Tiffany wants to have dinner with them and clear the air. Of course it was Christopher who put the idea to Tiffany, and well just made a balls up of it. But of course it was John who was the person who immediately put the block on that and told Christopher that nobody wants to do that.
Again, he went into the garden and told Tiffany that it was everyone else who didn't want to go along with the idea (which was Christopher's anyway).
He likes to play the act of being Mr. Reasonable but I can see how he is often the one who encourages negativity against other people, but then acts all reasonable and objective as though it's everyone else who has the problem.
