What an incredibly self centred bunch .
Bowie died and apart from one house mate it went totally unremarked .
Now that actually was funny 😆😆😆😆

I think it was Darren Day who stated that the world would be grieving...but like someone on another thread said...bet Bowie is looking down and laughing his head of.

Maybe they did . The edit is only a snippets of the day . It probably dawned on them all later after the comedy of errors !'
I think David would have laughed his socks off at it and maybe written a song

RIP David

Most annoying moment was Daniella looking around in confusion like a total idiot and going "David Bowie's not dead, is he?" As if Angie was talking about an event that had happened months ago or something.

To be fair, it must seem very unreal to them in there, with all the hysteria and madness going on around them. Must be hard to have a "normal" emotion.

I think in the end, they were all just relieved it wasn't 'their' David.

Darren did , he mentioned how the music industry would be mourning Bowie on the outside .

To also be fair, David Bowie would probably mean absolutely nothing to about half of the house.
They just don't strike me as the type of people who would give a toss about him or understand why he is an icon.

Not really. The younger ones may not have even heard of David Bowie. Nancy and Kristina both come from non English speaking countries and the rest may not be fans.

I certainly never listened to his music or watched him and everyday people die of cancer.

I have three close friends who are all fighting cancer, now those people I worry about!

Well yes, that was interesting, one or two of the housemates were saying "But David Bowie isn't dead".
So they too were also unable to relate that this was news given to Angie in the diary room about David Bowie.

I think the key point where this all went wrong was that it wasn't made clear to the housemates that Angie had been called to the diary room to receive this personal news.
Once Angie, John, and David Gest were out of the diary room the only David which exists to the other housemates is the David they're living with.

Which really is a failure or success depending on how you look at it on BB's part.

Well firstly, that's a huge assumption, and secondly, if they don't know about him, does it really matter? He was a massive star, but not everybody was a big fan.

And he was very conveniently encouraged by BB to go and have a nap. When a few moments before we are led to believe he is one of two confidents approved by BB to support Angie.

Excellent point.

You'd think that they film a little scene and chuck it in at the last moment wouldn't you? Because they've done something like that before.

Yes it is a huge assumption on my part. But that's what I'm here for.

No it doesn't matter. I'm just saying exactly the same thing you are. They simply don't strike me as the type of people who would care less about David Bowie. Isn't that what you're saying?

Not really. I think that being in that situation (in the CBB house) could have the effect of making people not think as they normally do. So they might well know how important Bowie is, but the reality of it won't sink in while they're in the house. Of course, some of them might be oblivious to his existence, but not all of them.

You've got it in one. A bunch of vacuous, empty headed "celebs" who think the world revolves around them. The majority of them in there don't seem to have a talent for doing anything either despite their so called fame.

Ironically, it's us mere mortals who live in the real world outside who would be far more capable of appreciating the true genius of David Bowie.

It certainly does. On the other hand you just couldn't set all that up. I guess I just have to accept that fact is stranger than fiction at times.

To be fair Eastenders have been stuck on the 4th of January for ages. David Bowie is still alive in their world.
