Now you want me to believe me she is grieving

Pull the other one

And all the other HM's latching on to her and treating her like a delicate rose and using Bowie's death to shoot down other HM's like Tiffany

That John is such an opportunist, i bet he wouldnt dare make that chicken comment to Bowie's wife and daughter

She even said she was glad to get the divorce earlier in the series.

Don't blame her for milking the situation, though, she wasn't doing very well in the popularity stakes.

Estranged people can still be genuinely upset when a death happens.

She didn't say she was grieving did she ? She said it was all so long ago etc.
but she was married to him and had a child with him. It would be weird if she didn't have profound thoughts at his passing.

When people die all the happy memories come flooding back even if you can't stand them and haven't seen them for years. The sadness is real.

As much as I dislike my ex, I would be very upset if he passed away. Especially because we have a child together.
I'm sure hearing the news of his passing has brought up a lot of memories, good and bad.

I'm not a massive fan of hers but I can believe she feels shocked and winded by the news. So much of her life has been defined by her relationship with DB, and now he's gone. As she said herself, it's the end of an era and it's no doubt made her more aware of her own mortality.

As I've said elsewhere, it's a thin line between love and hate. If she didn't have feelings for him there would be no hatred.

Grief is a complex thing. To be fair, Angie isn't even outpouring with her grief it but even if she was, I wouldn't judge. Even though they were estranged, at one point he was her husband and she loved him. She spent a lot of time with him. All those memories - good and bad - are bound to be flooding back.

As I said on another thread, the concern for Angie isn't genuine at all. They're all too aware of the cameras and the public. Before John cleared things up they all thought Angie was crazy and Jonathan(I think) said her husband isn't dead anyway( sorry not the exact words).

The only person I feel sorry for in all this is David Bowie's wife, children and those close to him. I got the impression Angie couldn't stand him. It might have been an upsetting shock but no she isn't a delicate flower that needs protecting from Tiffany.

I don't think she ever got over Bowie..... I think she loved him deeply and wanted him to be her saviour but it just wasn't to be. I expect they were both chaotic people at that time.

A scorned woman is very wrathful. Some women recover and move on others nurse that wrath and keep the cinders of hurt and hatred burning for eternity . I make no judgment .

she was left to deal with her problems and addictions
lost her son in the process
blocked from seeing or contacting her son

she must have been in a bad place and not being able to be a mother naturally to her son, even more painful for her

she was sad about hearing about Bowie's death she has a history with the man and memories and gave birth to a son with him

give her a break you don't know how she feels

John dealt with that situation so very badly. He cryptically told the HMs Angie had had some news and didn't elaborate, he threw Tiffany to the lions and didn't help that situation, he made it snowball into a Tiffany bashing when he knew what had happened

Why wouldn't they be supportive to Angie as she'd just learned her ex husband had died, ? rubbish that you say they weren't , I believe their reaction was genuine.

Darren Day particularly was very sweet to Angie. So what if Angie wasn't in contact and hadn't seen Bowie for many years, fgs, she had a relationship, marriage and son with him , she was bound to feel sad and as she even said "it feels like the end of an era" ,

or was she lying ? I for one don't think so

I think you're wrong . She said in her autobiography it was a marriage of convenience on both their parts , they wern't in love .

It's complicated.
I heard of the death of a former partner recently and even though I hadn't clapped eyes on him for over 20 years (and had absolutely no desire to) I felt like a big chunk of the stuff in my life that made me who I am now had disappeared and left a big empty space inside.

And of course all those memories of when I was young and pretty and free - before gravity, wrinkles and responsibilities took over!

It's upsetting. And it reminds you we're none of us here forever.

good post
totally get you
the only person who has a memory of you and what you shared at that time was the person who's passed away, , so closes a door. It means you'll NEVER be able to ever talk to them again about those times, even if that wasn't even on your conscience or wish to do so, that door is well and truly closed forever.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^

If it was not for Angie you would not of had the Bowie of the 70s she managed to secure money after RCA had pulled the plug on Bowie and refused to fund him any further, she was the one who secured the money to fund the Pennybaker film of the last performance of Ziggy Stardust at the Hammersmith Odeon in 73, the costumes and make-up ideas were all Angie's.

Can't highlight on my phone but in regards to your middle paragraph I don't believe they were genuine because they were all to quick to act like Angie was lying before clearing things up with her.
