I think both are responsible for the misunderstanding but more so Angie . Knowing there is another David in the house Angie should have said to Tiff, my ex David has died .
Angie's mind seems to be all over the place because this is the third time she's caused confusion and arguments through not been clear about what she said .[/QUOTE]

To be fair there's no right or expected behaviour from someone who has just had news of a death. It was decided in the diary room that it was up to how Angie felt as to whether she told anyone else or not and that's how it should be. We can never know how someone else feels about an ex husband never mind one as iconic as David Bowie who Angie must have spent some important formative years of her life with.

This is exactly the point. She'd just been told someone, who whatever she'd said about him, was a huge part of her life, the father of her son. She was not in any state to be thinking about any other David at that point when she told Tiffany.

Exactly. Yes, maybe she should have said "David Bowie", but she was in shock.
Tiffany obviously misunderstood. Stuff happens. Her reaction was ridiculous, though. She did not seem to want to accept that Angie just did not explain herself properly. I think it is preposterous to assume she wanted Tiffany to think it was David Gest.

How come Daniella still thought Angie had been talking about David Gest AFTER Angie told her she'd been speaking about her ex husband? 'David Bowie's not dead neither '
Do none of these celebrities ever ask questions?

I don't think Daniella ever really understood what was going on right up to the end to be honest.

Why wouldn't she? He was a real star unlike the majority of that house.

He was certainly more famous than she'll ever be.

Thank you so much for this transcript, KT_Dog. The whole situation was both tragic and hilarious and made for compulsive viewing. It's great to be able to read it through.

Angie and Tiffany both made mistakes, but both were upset and it's easy to see where the confusion came from. Tiffany's behaviour after things were explained was inexcusable though. IMHO.

even when Angie told her that it was HER EX DAVID that had died
there was still no reaction from Daniella though , she knew how FAMOUS David Bowie was, but still she was blank faced

they must have all talked about Bowie , how can they not have
What we saw was them more interested in giving Tiffany grief

I think Tiffany could have been forgiven for misunderstanding Angie for sure, but her reaction *after* she knew the truth is the main problem. Calling Angie a stupid old b!tch and going crazy at her, knowing that she's an elderly woman who was just told some terrible news is pretty rough, and says a lot about her character.

It didn't excactly help matters that Guest was in bed with a cover over him.

It did cross our minds (after constantly stopping and replaying the same parts repeatedly, as we were laughing our heads off at the pure farce), that when Angie had said not to say anything, and that David was dead, whether Tiffany thought that not only had Angie topped Gest, but she also wanted her help to conceal and possibly bury the body!

The thought that BB would have left it to Angie, who has caused confusion previously, to go and tell random housemates this secret about Gest's death - rather than closing the bedroom down, or even moving all HMs out of the house while it was dealt with - is just so crazy!

Also a little surprised that not one person that Tiffany told that David was dead, just for a second had a thought that Angie might've been talking about her ex...

Darren in the Diary Room later was the best though - "just for a split second or maybe thirty seconds, I thought David Gest may be dead"

Tiffany was a stupid bitch for shouting to everybody despite being told to keep it a secret - but I despise the way John, Jonathan and Gemma were eyeballing her in the bathroom.

And, as Robin Windsor said on BOTS, nobody should be told by another HM to leave the house.

It was perhaps the most bizarre thing I have seen in my life.

All over the world people were mourning the death of David Bowie - life doesn't get any more real.

And here we have Angie Bowie, his first wife.

Only on Big Brother could something so real be reduced to farce. This show pushes the boundaries , that's for certain.

Don't forget, Angie had previously been telling them all that she has nothing to do with David Bowie and hadn't seen him in 40 years... and goes to great lengths to avoid him, so I can understand why Tiffany presumed she meant David Gest, seeing as he was the only David around.

I feel that Angie is the main drama queen in the house judging from what I've seen of her since she went in.”

I completely agree with you.........why on earth would Tiffany have assumed it was David Bowie Angie was referring to! Of course she was going to think she meant David Guest, Angie didn't make herself clear at all.

I'm also not sure why Angie felt the need to confide in Tiffany in the 1st place, she said herself in the DR she wanted it kept quiet........1st thing she then does is tells the 1st person she sees. Angie created the drama, perhaps she never intended it to develop the way it did, but she was the one who started it all off.

There's a transcript thread showing the conversation as it happened”

This is the exact point where it could all have been so different. If she'd even said "yesterday" or "earlier today" then the penny might have dropped because Tiffany knew David was very much with them and around and about.

That dangerous word JUST, caused the confusion. Angie used it twice, but she meant in the context of receiving the news.

"When did it happen!" (which Angie perceived as when did you hear?) JUST now!

To be fair, with the odd exception (Carol Vorderman, Stephen Fry etc) most celebrities aren't particularly strong in the intelligence department, with any talent their head might possess usually being on the front of it.
