Hmmm. Some will say he didn't mean anything by it but I thought it came across very suspicious and passive aggressive.

Not liking John that much.

Maybe she only eats chicken.

Well, I'd normally be more subjective - but since John wouldn't miss a chance to play the Gay card, he can die by the sword he lives by.

Vile little twerp.

I heard this mentioned in another thread, but what was the comment? Nobody is saying.

When Christopher tried to arrange for Tiffany to have an opportunity to Apologise John said

"She just wants a plate of Chicken"

Not sure if the rest of them were eating "Plate of chicken" that day? Probably innocent. but hey if a comment that *could* be interpreted as homophobic was made to John you can bet your life he'd take it that way!

John was ranting that she does nothing in the house and only comes into the kitchen to get a plate of chicken or WTE.

He basically said she only shows her face when she wants some food and that she will pop up "when she wants a plate of chicken".

The more I see that comment the more suspect it seems. I'm pretty sure Chicken isn't the only thing she eats but you know "all people of a certain ethnicity only eat chicken".

Still not getting it. Is "plate of chicken" some sort of street slang for some racist insult?

Don't play ignorant. . You know chicken is seen as a stereotypical product for people of a certain racial group.

John was angry in that moment and that comment seemed like it had some venom in it.

It's more a racist stereo type than a racist slur. It's like saying an Indian will only show their face for a plate of curry or a English person only wants to make up for some fish and chips.

Someone pointed out that Chicken was being cooked for that days dinner, so not exactly suspicious, maybe just fact

"Just wanting a plate of chicken" could just mean that and implying she goes up and grabs her food but doesn't offer to prepare it nor wash up after.

Gemma spoke to Tiff later stating if she wants to feel she belongs she needs to be more of a team player, like making coffee/tea offer to wash up etc. Obviously she doesn't do anything in the house.

Listen to the way he said it, it had plenty of intentional malice in it.

Well call me naive but yes that is exactly what I thought. They were having chicken for dinner. But now I learn it means Tiffany is Jewish.

Malice and contempt, yes, racist intent, no. As others have pointed out, they were having chicken for dinner.
