This is really rather serious.

Should one of us ring OFCOM?

What a thoroughly despicable man.

I am not so sure the chicken comment was meant to be racist. He did follow up the comment about she just wants to eat later.

My boyfriend is also black and eats a wide range of meats and indeed other food.

exactly, that was the point John was making. Not the first time Tiff has been accused of being lazy and does nothing in the house.

Funny how some ppl are ready to jump on the racist bandwagon.

When I first heard him say that I thought to myself that's a tad racist and stereo typical. Going onto social media and seeing hundreds of people think the same made me realise that maybe it is. Either way you don't typically dish chicken up on it's own so to say the term "plate of chicken" over the word "plate of food" or "dinner" is a bad choice of words, and in my opinion was not an honest or innocent mistake.

This is getting ridiculous! Tiffany upset the entire house, including John. Then John (who was still angry at her) made a comment about how she only came into the kitchen to get her meal (which that day was chicken). This was later backed up by the comments Gemma was making to Tiffany about how she should try and help out with the cooking/food prep more. People need to get a grip - this wasn't racism, it was a comment on Tiffany's lack of input into anything relating to kitchen chores!

maybe Tiff doesn't eat vegetables, you'll be surprised how many Americans don't

Lol we will just agree to disagree. I found the comment distasteful and John already wanting to ostracise Tiffany from the group made the comment even more suspicious. It seemed like a cheap racial stereotype at her.

I'm with you on this.

I did kind of raise my eyebrown when he said it because that would very much be a racial dig in the States. I think it was his attitude towards Tiff at that moment, not something that had to do with her race.

And with the dislike I now have for John I'm pretty impressed I could give him the benefit of the doubt!

Agree! People who cry racist all the time actually diminish the word from it's true meaning.

Are people being serious? If they were having chicken for dinner that day, Was John supposed to say Tiffany would pop out for a plate of sausages (even though it was chicken) just so he doesn't offend somebody. John may have made himself look a bit of a tit when he tried to get Tiffany to leave the house because Imo she didn't deserve the treatment she got from a lot of the housemates but i really think he was being a bitch rather than racist.

OMG the political inferences for a plate of sausages - I hardly know where to begin.
