Humax Hb-1000s
Hello considering leaving sky for freesat. A question for anyone who has this particular box with a external hard drive plugged in to it. The box has only one tuner but while the box is actively recording a programme can you still access the hdd to watch a show that was recorded earlier that day or week that is saved on the hdd? Hope that makes sense.

You can also watch a second channel while recording if it shares a transponder with the recording channel. Example - You could record say BBC1 HD and watch BBC2 HD (or vice versa). I don't have a HB1000S but I imagine you can also use the On Demand services while recording (You can on a HDR1000S). |

Yes you can. You can also view the on demand IP channels and other channels that are on the same transponder as the one you're recording on.
For example, if you were recording CH5, you'd still be able to view CH5+1, 5*, 5USA, Spike etc, as they're all on the same transponder. |

Thank you very much a your reply. The HUMAX HB-1000S is around £80 which I was willing to pay but looking on humax website they have refurbished HDR version for £99 and the HB-1000s for £40. So might spend the bit extra for the HDR version.
