Watched the next ep a couple of days ago, having trouble remembering any stand out moments but they did definitely pick up the pace with Simon, that seelie (sp??) guy and keeping the cup safe. Alec is also becoming more interesting every episode.
I see that Amazon are starting a new Vertigo series on Monday, Preacher, have you guys heard of it? Worth a look?

The graphic novels are awesome, who knows if the series will be any good.

I will be checking it out on Amazon (it's well worth a look).

Episode 10 - Liked the parallel universe plot, especially Magnus. Also liked the Luke/Simon pairing, thought their little ruse was quite funny. Alec was an idiot though, letting that demon through the portal, I'm not even sure why him and Jace suddenly hate each other so passionately.

Episode 11 - Yay for getting one over on Valentine and getting her mother back, didn't see the brother-sister thing coming, although in hindsight it's a pretty convenient way to solve the love triangle, the look on Simon's face was priceless!

Preacher seems to be getting really good reviews from all my major graphic novel/comic book fan mates I've not seen it yet myself.

Ahhh yes, the alternative reality world was ace, I loved nerdy Simon and Izzy (love me my Sizzy ship ) plus out and confident Alec was hot!
What do you mean about Alec letting the demon through the portal?

Episode 11 - the big "reveal", the less said about that plot line (in the novels that is) the better because it just pisses me off intensely.

Best episode coming up next though with Malec

Definitely going to give it a look, but I'll wait a bit because the next one isn't out for 2 weeks and we all know that I have no patience once I enjoy something!

I was paraphrasing, it's just that he hurt Jace at exactly the wrong time and stopped him stopping that demon.

I also enjoyed the role reversal between Alec and Magnus.

Ahhh now I know which bit you mean now. Yeah it's all about their parabatai bond and how Alec is feeling betrayed.

Alec looks so happy now, love how he was the last to know. Malec are very cute
Simon seems to be adjusting well now, think I prefer vampire Simon!
Disappointed about Hodge, I liked him

Vampire SImon is awesome Malec are awesome Hodge was sad although in the books he's an elderly scholarly type so it wasn't quite as bad as it being the delicious Jon Corr!

I completely hadn't noticed that. Now you mention it, he'd not bad, I suppose.

If you're into that kind of thing

So, the finale...

Loved seeing Alec put his parents in their place, although I do wonder what they know about Magnus that we don't.
Not a fan of working with Camille but the vampire scenes were quite fun.
Glad to have Clary's mother back, not glad that that is the only bit of closure we're likely to get for now. I would have liked more of the Valentine loose ends to be tied up, I'm just hoping that Jace is still on our side and is now perfectly placed to strike.

Overall opinion of the series is that it was nice, fluffy TV but I did push it aside in favour of the Netflix Marvel series and I won't rush to buy Netflix when series 2 arrives. The last few episodes saved it, and I was actually surprised how much I was invested in it when I was annoyed at the cliffhanger. I'll probably dip in when I next get Netflix for new Marvel stuff, it has great potential if they can learn from this first series.

Yeah totally agree with those two BiB. It did start off as fluff, then it got much better and I became quite obsessed towards the end but, for me, that was totally because of Malec and how well they actually handled their story (in the books it's on the sidelines and takes 3 bloody books before they get together and most of their stuff is actually in a separate series of stories!)

I wouldn't ever put it up against a Marvel show though, especially not their darker ones like Daredevil or JJ, they're in a totally different headspace and their source origins are so different as well, one is a set of teen/YA books, the other is Marvel's "adult" comic line

Of course, I agree the content can't be compared, just faced with limited time to binge Netflix, I gave priority to the marvel stuff because it grabbed me much more effectively, I watched the first 10ish episodes of Shadowhunters out of stubbornness rather than a burning desire to know what happened next.

Malec was well handled, the pacing was just right to make it believable. Probably the most mature writing of the series.

Should be if they follow book content but who knows the way they're mixing things up. I think he's proved to be popular among Shadowhunter fans so they'll probably find some way to keep him involved.

I was thinking that. Hopefully he will have a role in s2 as he was one of my "favourite" characters

New showrunners for Shadowhunters

http://deadline.com/2016/08/shadowhu...rs-1201800385/

Whilst I'd be happy to see improvements in script and plotting, I hope this won't mean Malec will lose out

Hmm interesting development, especially with the sudden exit of Ed Decter last week.
As they've been outlining for a while now, hopefully it won't have a huge impact on the Season Two storylines.

Honestly, that's OK with me. If Jason comes a callin', I'll send him straight your way.

Or not, if you get my gist :P

Jason Momoa does absolutely nothing for me at all No idea why as on paper I should love him.

Although I can see the attraction in this photo, generally I find him just a bit too unkempt.
