Something that did piss me off is when Alex said to Lydia "I'm going to use my heart..." and then he ask her to marry him.
That is entirely opposite to using your heart and it really quite annoyed me. (I'm sure he only reckons it's only like at this stage) That's how I rationalise it

Maybe his heart is saying 'love family, love house, I can overcome myself' and his head is saying 'Don't be so bloody stupid, you're gay and you like Magnus. Be sensible!'
(I'm sure he only reckons it's only like at this stage) That's how I rationalise it ![]() That said: PAGE 5!!!! Wohooo. I knew this show had DS legs

I suspect there's going to be more than that to it in the long run. Magnus told him to start living for himself and to "do what's in your heart" so I'm guessing this may be his last ditch effort to please his family before he finally does rebel.
Although I thought super awesome weapons master Hodge was going to bite the bullet. But phew... Hopes for more semi-naked scenes later in the series, then

Hopes for more semi-naked scenes later in the series, then ![]() The whole cast is exceptionally pretty to look at really, it's no hardship watching them in action!Fortunately the actual story telling and plot narrative is slowly catching up too and each episode is a definite improvement over the previous one. Next week's promo looks good too and the promo photos released for EP 10 look seriously bizarre but in a freakily good way (it's one of those dreamworld/false reality stories that all fantasy shows seem to have to have!) |

Oh stop teasing! I don't watch the promos as they ruin things! I had to stop myself from watching last week's you posted.

Sorry I promise to behave. Well a bit anyway. You can safely watch this, no promo spoiler stuff just lots of gorgeous Alec Lightwood.
And I agree, I think it deserves a second season at the least. And I'm like a compass NEAR North whenever I watch this show :P |

Agree x 1000. It's just such a guilty pleasure. Actually, not so much guilty any more as it's actually got quite good. I can see if they drop the crap with Valentine and focus on interesting stuff (like with Simon), it could be awesome.
And I'm like a compass NEAR North whenever I watch this show :P Lets see some of the incredible powers of persuasion he had to make people join the Circle and be willing to go against the Clave! |

If they actually used Valentine properly it would be much better. He's actually a really interesting evul villain in the books, manipulative, charming, seductive etc. Jonathan Rhys Meyers got that side of him pretty well in the film version and the guy whose playing him in this can be utterly charming so I don't know why they're interpreting him as some second rate Russian Mafioso guy - it's just not working.
Lets see some of the incredible powers of persuasion he had to make people join the Circle and be willing to go against the Clave! Soooo scary! There's literally nothing of substance to him at all. They'd do better getting rid and having the vampires as the enemy at this point. In fact he should have been nothing more than veiled threat at this point - that's how vapid his scenes have been - have him come into the show at the last episode or something. |

The problem is he's not done ANYTHING. He's captured his ex-wife (creepy), sent a few weird zombies out against the werewolves, and made plenty of snarled threats.

I'm hoping now they've brought in Lydia Bracewell we'lll get some more of the Clave and some backstory to the Shadow World. |

Yep totally agree, they've failed with giving him any motivation for why he's so desperate to get the Mortal Cup or why he wants to make more Shadowhunters or why it's forbidden to do so other than them being born naturally like Alec, Izzy and Jace etc.

![]() Not replying to my posts about the show, that's where ![]() ![]() ![]() Wonder what the ratings are like? I'm SURE Netflix is having a huge effect on the show, but getting those ratings is tough. |

I'm SURE Netflix is having a huge effect on the show, but getting those ratings is tough. ![]() I'd love to know the Netflix ratings but I don't think they ever release them. I suspect there's lots of people watching it on Netflix though and probably through various other VPN fixes to get the UK version to watch it. I'm hoping the Netflix deal is enough for it to get a second season. The ratings haven't been brilliant but they're also not dreadful either. 1x01 | 0.76 in A18-49 | 1.41 in F12-34 1x02 | 0.41 in A18-49 | 0.78 in F12-34 1x03 | 0.45 in A18-49 | 0.71 in F12-34 1x04 | 0.41 in A18-49 | 0.78 in F12-34 1x05 | 0.45 in A18-49 | 0.66 in F12-34 1x06 | 0.43 in A18-49 | 0.73 in F12-34 Viewing figures, it seems to pick up well on the DVT and +7 numbers too. http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/sh...n-one-ratings/ |

Wow 1.06 did really poorly
![]() ![]() Tues 2/16/2016 01-06 0.43 -4.44% 0.976 3.06% 107 had a shocking drop of 13%. Tues 2/23/2016 01-07 0.37 -13.95% 0.841 -13.83% But for Freeform, they're still reasonable viewing numbers and demographics and they've been holding steady over the last couple of episodes so, in combo with the Netflix deal, I think it's probably going to get a second season. The channel itself is skewed to a younger and predominantly female audience so they'll be fairly happy with the 12-34 demos. |

All my favourite shows get cancelled. I can just see Shadowhunters going the same way as Brickleberry. I think a second season will really help them get into the story...

I've struggled thru 3 eps of this , its dreadful , ok the cast are all young and good looking but their constant attempts to act sexy and seduce each other are just tiresome , they just aren't believable , good looks and tons of make-up can't cover the bad acting .

. ![]() It also vastly improves once they've got most of the exposition of setting up the world out of the way. |

From what I understand they don't just look at viewing figures either. They take account of it's reach across social media e.g. youtube, twitter etc
I'd imagine with the fan base the books have already, that's quite high |
