Do you think there'll be Malec smoochies?
Going on that final shot from the promo it's either the biggest "queerbaiting" (technical term for shows which draw in fans by appearing to have a gay subtext, usually slash - male/male pairings when they're not intending to go down that same sex relationship) route OR

they're going to kiss and I am going to die!

This video is killing me (no spoilers but includes shots from the EP12 promo sneak peaks).

HAHAHA. I actually watched that video following on from your myriad of links last week Harry Shum Jr is just a phenomenal actor - I could watch him all day - he was born to play Magnus - it's his expressions and flourishes that I adore.

Queerbaiting - never heard that before. See these threads are also educational!

And, we're on page 8. Who'd've thought it?

Totally agree, I think it's his dance background which just gives him that grace and otherworldly way of moving.
I loved him on Glee so I'm really pleased to see him getting a major role in another big TV series as he was under used there for a lot of the time.

Have you seen any of his dance work? Or this seriously hot foreshadowing of his Magnus Bane incarnation!

What a cheap imitation. It's like a fan-effort

Harry's a fabulous singer, they just didn't really use him that much.

Which was a real shame.

I love Godfrey Gao as an actor and he plays Magnus quite differently from Harry but there was no chemistry with Kevin Zeigers at all and the whole film was a real disappointment apart from Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who tore it up as Valentine.
His portrayal showed that charismatic power Valentine is supposed to have and the hint of insanity just tipping him over the edge.

I'm going to watch the movie again but not until the season has ended. I don't want to pick up any spoilers that I might have missed

I have to agree about Jonathan. He was probably the only good thing about the movie for me. I felt like none of the characters had any connections at all.

Absolutely and what's even more bizarre about it is that Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell-Bower were going out with each other at the time!

Episode 6 onwards it becomes absolutely brilliant.

I'm going to officially die when this episode airs!

Yep 9/8 Central tonight so Netflix tomorrow but not sure if I can wait until then. I don't know how quickly on a Wednesday it's put on Netflix i.e. midnight our time or after it's aired Stateside.

It's on but they've been doing work on the flat downstairs and it's beyond noisy here (been going in since Jan so I'm dying to watch but no chance until they've all gone home).

GAH!

I'm dead. My brain has officially stopped functioning. When I can managed to unscramble it from the after effects of Malec I'll come back and do a proper review

Hehe, seriously my brain just can't function atm. I'm replaying one particular scene which I'm sure you can guess what it is constantly on YouTube

I'm going to watch EP11 and then EP12 again back to back after work when the 8-year-old is in bed and then I'll maybe be able to process it enough to write something cohesive!

OK no one say another word until *I* have watched it!

Which will be in about 90 minutes!

Then we can discuss

Cadiva: please plan your review to go live at about 9:00pm! Thanks

It's royal edits all round tonight from moi

You're not effing joking!!!

That was epic! So worth 12 episodes! Absolutely brilliant TV

Everything was epic from Izzie's frankly insane colour of lipstick (go rewatch and check it out - that's bleedin' amazing) to the major surprise at the end.

And one episode to go!!!

Wasn't it just. Right, so now with some sort of order restored to my head, my review of Malec goes something like this:

sngdxnnsfsdvn jbgjhgiaflsd and then l\dncl\dn

(click the emoticons too!)

And Matt Daddario's summation of what happens:
"So he looks down and sees this wonderful man and he hops down there and he smooches (emphasis his here!) that man right on the face right in front of everyone."
The whole episode, on the back of last week's, was nothing short of brilliant. The pacing was superb, the contrast between the excitement of the wedding, the darkness and the broken dreams of Clace, Malec seemingly ending as Magnus accepts defeat, the death of Ragnor Fell - who'd only been on screen for like 5 minutes but I was tearing up!

Then the Sizzy, Simon looking smoking hot in one of Raphael's suits, Lydia just being an all round decent person, and I'm so glad they took that route with her, she could have been a cliche just to foil Malec but she's really brought depth and insight into the Clave and how "the law is the law" has stifled and constricted the Shadowhunters in everything they do.

And we also got Jace and Alec at the Bachelor Party which Izzy got Simon's help to create and finally a heart to heart between parabatai which laid it all out on the table and addressed the two elephants in the room - Valentine's revelation and Alec's wedding. Another superb scene with Dom and Matt and I've become more impressed with Dom as the show has gone on.

We also had a lovely Alec and Clary scene where they mutually recognised they'd both made mistakes and both helped each other out and things might not be quite so bleak as both originally thought.

And then the betrayal I knew was coming as a book reader but which was still superbly done. Hodge attacks Lydia, steals the cup and finally contacts Valentine. Jon Cor has been brilliant as their version of Hodge, rather than the elderly and more scholarly version in the book.

Can't believe there's only one episode left and, from the promo,
Spoiler

So, Shadowhunters, you've gone from a show I watched for the pretties and because I'd enjoyed the books when they came out a few years ago into an obsession.

You're in good company, only Merlin, Glee and The West Wing have ever done that before. I know they've now started work on Season Two but if I've got to wait until next January I'm gonna be dying!
