Oh yeah, I forgot, we also got the epic The Graduate moment from Simon who proved he was the biggest #Malec shipper of the lot

And Ruelle's music, which has killed it throughout the whole run of the season. Perfect and ethereal and War of Hearts couldn't have been more perfect for the big wedding scene.

Hang on there is going to be another cliffhanger???

How can they possibly top episode 12?

I cannot believe the ending... I understand the motivations why said person did said act, but I was still completely shocked by it...

We usually have a bleak early part of the year where new shows are pretty terrible - but this year has been amazing!

They had to have a cliffhanger to convince the execs to give it a second season I guess

Vicky I'm glad you approved I'm still on a high from EP12 but next week's could seriously finish me off depending on if the cliffhanger is what I think they might go with.

SHUUUUUUUUUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next week is AGES AWAY :P

BTW. I am absolutely and categorically "convinced" that Valentine was just screwing with the kids. C and J are not related... They can't be. Nooo. No way. Surely not.

Can they?

Nooooo

I love how cool Alec's dad was with it, even if he doesn't really understand what's going on at the moment. Him asking them how long they've been in love and Alec trying to brush it aside so quickly, lol. I'm sure his mother will come around soon.

The silent brother tilting his head during it all was so good LOL.

I've seen the promo for next week, and all I can say is:

Which means you all know!

I am NOT Googling!

I do indeed know. Well I know what happens in the books so I'm assuming they'll be following something similar to that.

Harry Schum is just amazing. His expressions when they go to visit the other demon and he's sort of stomping through the grass behind Jayce and Clary - HYSTERICAL.

I find him riveting. Such a great actor.

Exciting! One week to go!

What I find amazing is how I never thought this thread would make page 4 never mind having over 10,000 views and a load of interest.

But go to IMDB and look at the threads. They started hating the show and while it still has some major detractors, people generally have really warmed to it!

I really really hope the big review sites pick up covering it again for Season Two. Apart from EW and TVfanatic, all the other main sites like Den of Geek, IGN, the AV Club, TV.com etc all gave up reviewing after the pilot, which is such a shame.

And very short-sighted really on their parts given the insane social media pull The Mortal Instruments has.

Harry was one of my favourite characters on Glee. There's a scene in EP1 of Season Two where they're doing a flashback of what happened over the summer and there's a shot of him and Jenna (who played Tina) dancing at a summer camp with his abs on display for the first time and I was just "oh hello Harry"

Hey I never pretended otherwise! Although, as a former (amateur) dancer (ballet, tap and contemporary into my teens) and a bit of a dance geek, it's his amazing dance skills which really attract my attention rather than his abs. He is mesmerising to watch.

This routine with Heather Morris on Glee is one of my favourites: Valerie.

Something I was going to say. Malec was discussed a lot on my gaming forum and the number of guys who said they cheered with their girlfriends when (you know what) happened.

That's a testament to how lovely this story is.

Awwww. I also love that FreeForm has totally embraced this whole relationship. They've released a Story of Malec video on the official Shadowhunters TV YouTube channel which is awesome.

There's a nice interview here with Harry and Matt from the GLAAD awards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtn5-Mga2q4

but they've really scared me now about the season final

I love how Matt talks with his hands and how he watches Harry when he's speaking. This pair just kill me

I'm not hugely worried, given that I'm a book reader, but I have a vague idea of what he's probably referring to depending on which book story narrative they choose to follow up on first from the previous episode.

That was a solid finale for season 1. Poor Hodge! Jace went a bit too far there. For some reason, I can't really blame Hodge for what he did. I do hope we get to see him again the future though. I felt sorry for him being locked inside all the time.

Magnus and Alec having doubts already?! Noooooo.....

I enjoyed it but it wasn't amazing. I blame Cadiva for setting me up to expect some huge cliffhanger.

Just kidding, Cadiva XXX

I thought it was pretty good but I'm disappointed that we won't see any more training sessions with Hodge...

I guess that was one of the reasons why it didn't impress me as much.

I do think the acting has got much better.

It was a good episode. It ended on a cliff-hanger but not of the really painful kind, more in a 'what's going to happen next' way.

I was pleased that Alec remained focussed and wasn't drawn into Camille's games. He trusts Magnus.

I don't think they are having doubts about how they feel. They are simply considering the implications of their being together, in particular Alec because it's new to him of course. The immortal-mortal issue is something that will need to be thought through for a long-term relationship, something that I imagine most of us here have never needed to worry about.
