1 hit wonder to be honest. Like many groups in many eras. Massive for a few months. I big hit followed by a few average songs, then vanish without trace to reappear decades later at Butlins 80s weekends.

The only thing I remember them for is that Phil Thornally produced the mighty Pornography album by The Cure and was also playing bass for them when I saw them at the Granby Halls in Leicester.

I like that song too. I have their one album which is pretty good although there's not too much diversity to the music. They have one sound which gets a little dull after awhile. I read somewhere that they toured with another singer not that long ago.

I've mp3s of "Shattered Dreams" and "Turn Back the Clock."

They get a few plays, now and again.

I remember Casey Kasem playing Don't Say It's Love on America's Top Ten in '88. The song didn't even make the UK Top40.

My fav would be I Don't Want to be a Hero.

Heart of Gold is absolutely brilliant. Shame Clark Datchler left the group at the height of their success although their sound would not have fit the early 90s so well.

Yes I think they were together for quite a few years

Never liked JHJ myself but I was a teenage Smiths fan back in those days and was not into 80s 'yuppie pop'

I suppose sound wise they were commercial pop soul but lyrically their songs are quite emotionally touching and with a certain sadness behind them. Guess they split as Clark wanted to record more abstract, personal stuff which the record company hated.

I didn't even realise there were other members. I thought it was purely a front for Phil Thornally.

No.

Kim dated Calvin Hayes for a while.
