John's Noms The Worst In 17 Years?!!
Master Ozzy

It has got to be. I know over the years we get the whole “we have nothing in common” and “we don’t gel” rubbish reasons, but John nominating Darren (his best friend in the house) and giving the reason as he’s trying to help him…I mean, it’s ridiculous!! Even from a game playing aspect, as game players go it’s an absolutely awful reason to give!! It’s so see through!!

Worse nominations excuse was last year for Eileen Daly by Simon Simon Gross

Simon nominate Eileen "as she is half way through her life and she has more security back at home she has had the opportunity and it is now time to let other people to stay in this process which are just beginning their adults life."

Bit nasty considering Simon is only 5 years younger than Eileen.

2nd Place:
Stephanie nominated Kristina, “Because me and Jezza are next to each other and laughing all night, and we kept her up. She was angry at both of us as we kept her up.”

How about Louise nominating Maisie for "looking at her in a funny way" or wtte?

I thought his reasoning was ok. It has been shown that Darren is under stress and not coping, regarding his previous addictions. He has started smoking again & has been yearning for a drink.

Angie, obviously, doesn't want to, 'walk.' Perhaps, it would silence her critics - if, she was voted out !!

He was the only one having to give face-to-face noms... The one thing we know all the housemates hate doing... And he decided to make a big humble, caring-uncle thing about it. Which was a terrible idea... I mean, I could see what he was thinking but if he'd have just said, "My first nomination is X, they fart in their sleep and it keeps me awake." then he'd have gotten a few laughs, whoever he'd nominated would have been a bit pissed off but would have got over it quickly in a "well we all have to do it and he obviously couldn't think of someone to nominate" way and he'd have been golden.

His biggest misstep though was his reasons for nominating Darren... Something I still don't think he comprehends and something Darren actually hasn't even explained to him that well, focusing instead on the whole "I thought we were mates" aspect of it...

...ADDICTION. Darren is a recovering alcoholic and substance abuser. This is a huge thing in his life and doubtless a huge thing for all his friends and family... And John's nomination was centred around "seeing hIm starting to slip back". This of course is a massive thing to say about someone in Darren's position... The worst thing to say really... Which is why Darren immediately started looking up towards the cameras and asking big brother to make sure they made it clear John was actually talking about cigarettes, knowing that his friends/family on the outside who are doubtless always worried about a back-step didn't get the wrong idea. The fear of 'slipping back' will be on their mind constantly same as its on Darren's and John just casually announced it was happening. When arguably it wasn't.

It was a silly and very cruel and thoughtless reason to nominate. I don't actually think John knew that... I'm not even sure he does now...

No - they were bad reasons undoubtedly, but there's been far worse over the years. Darren BB1's reasons were a farce, plus there have been several Simon Gross style "age" nominations over the years.

I got the feeling he was doing a James nominates Austin replay...
http://www.ok.co.uk/tv/celebrity-big...minates-austin

Darren should just have turned and said to him "No problem mate" and not given John the opportunity for the emotional "It's only because I love you " routine all done with tears in his eyes...

John doesn't want to see anyone win other than himself.

Surely not Oddly I have a vague recollection John criticised James Jordan on SOTS yet is falling into the same rut which was his downfall.

Good post and I agree with you ... I don't think John gets what he did wrong.

I think his nominations were for tactical reasons. Angie because he knows her time is probably limited anyway so her future noms won't damage his chances too much or for too long.
With Darren he's worried that nominating anyone else may result in them nominating him at a later date, but he's fairly certain that Darren won't ever 'revenge' nominate him - especially once he went to him with the fake, crying, I love you my darling bestie speech.

Nasty cowardly little man imo.

Only his scond nomination was contentious.

He was scuppered by having to do them face-to-face and not being allowed to nominate Tiffany.

Whatever his real resaon for picking Darren it was a disaster, inside and outside the house.
