I read earlier that John P left EE and couldn't commit to returning full-time because his poor mum has developed Alzheimer's and John has become her sole carer.
I know John is in a civil partnership, or at least has a long-term loving relationship with the man in his life but I didn't know he had THIS heartache in his life.
I know what it's like to be around a parent who has developed dementia/ alzheimers and it leaves you with such a sadness that you just can't shake no matter what your personality is to start with.
John will be feeling emotional under the surface (he is after all a loving son going by the fact he's stood by his ill mother) regardless of the game he may / may not be playing in the CBB house.
If John is doing certain things (like nominating Darren - which is not THAT bad for godsake, yeah they are friends on there but FGS maybe John just wants a chance to win and Darren is publically, celebrity-wise the closest persona to him) then maybe it's to try secure a nice payment from CH.5 and any offers that come with it to secure a better environment for him and his mum/
Whatever you all may say about him, I think he's an ordinary bloke who - like the rest of us- would like to win and secure financial happiness.
EDIT:
Everyone going on about John nominating Darren.
To me John is one of the bravest and most up-front housemates I'vr ever seen in there. When others backstab their friends in there it's usually in the diary room with nominations. It happens so much. John could be talking to Darren being all matey and sllagging him off in the DR but he doesn't .He actually has the balls to remove competition in the house. I DO believe John really does like Darren, I think they are very alike. Darren is quite an insincere bloke underneath. He is full of himself but keeps it in check and acts humble and an "everyman"
The thing John hasn't done (and I'm not sure he is allowed to or it would make it any different is to say "Darren I'm nominating you because we are alike and only one of us can win this mate" I dont think theres any malice in it at all. Its just like two footballers greeting each other on opposing teams, bring mates, but wanting to win.
