I find it odd that Amy winehouse manages a british female nom just by for a documentary film soundtrack that is essentially a collection of all the songs we had heard before.

Same for the best british album nom as well

I really don't understand that to be honest. I remember looking at the album on iTunes and it is mostly rehashed material which in my eyes is really just a cash-in to promote the documentary.

The Brits is more about giving people a pat on the pack for making the labels a load of money though isn't it? Although I do LOVE the Coldplay album, I think they've made a massive return to form personally!

Good point actually... I'm not that familiar with BMTH to be honest, but for a young British rock band to be making such a big splash is probably worth a mention!

Amy's not up for Best Album though? But yes, its a ridiculous nomination and one that seems to imply that there aren't five female artists in the UK worthy of mention this year. If I was Ellie Goulding I'd be pretty p*ssed off!
