A friend of ours here on Rhodes finds loving homes in the UK for stray or unwanted dogs.
Tomorrow she was to have collected a German Shepard from his owner.
Today the owner hanged the dog.
He also has 10 other dogs but I dont know why.
Its going to be very hard to have those dogs removed as there is nothing like RSPCA here.

Are you going to try and save the dogs ? Is there anyone who could help you ? Why isn't killing dogs illegal in Greece ?

Our friend has managed to get 2 puppies taken from this man today.Both have distended abdomens & ringworm.
They are 2.5 month old siblings. The boy is 3.6kg & the girl 5.9.It is very difficult to take legal action in Greece.The animal charities do their best. Funds are mostly spent on TNR programmes & feeding the strays.

It must be horrible knowing this man doesn't treat his dogs properly and be unable to do anything about it .Well done to your friend for at least rescuing 2 .

Trying contacting PETA , if they cannot help, they may have contacts who can

Heartache.
There are no animal welfare organisations here on Rhodes Like PETA or RSPCA.
Only dog / cat sancturies & groups doing TNR programmes.
Some people do try to bring legal proceedings against those who abuse or kill animals.
There is little success.
For example a man was given a hefty fine for killing a dog by beating its head with a metal bar.
He just didnt pay the fine.

Unfortunately it is the same in many countries, we have dogs shipped to the UK from Greece, Romania, Spain, Ireland and loads of other places to try and rehome here, not that it matters that we are PTS hundreds of thousands of our own dogs we cant find homes for. Unfortunately some human beings suck and will use and abuse animals.

Too dreadful to think about what will happen to the rest of this brute's dogs. I shall have trouble sleeping tonight now. Dogs are so trusting and forgiving. It beggars belief that someone could deliberately harm one.
