Innocent or ignorant?

Ignorance really is bliss...
I find it very sad when people feel the need to insult other people and call them ignorant just because they act like the majority of us by accepting other people for who they are and base their like and dislike on the actual person rather than their race, colour, sexual orientation, etc.

How would you know how or where I live ? Are you making assumptions about me and who I am ?

Well it's better to be called 'ignorant' if almost suggesting that racism doesn't exist. There's a lot worse that one could be called for inferring that.

I most certainly did not say it didnt exist . I said it never dawns on ME . On ME . I was talking about me and my perceptions . Somehow saying I hardly ever notice colour has for some reason now turned into something else

Probably because they pushed her over the edge during the task and it was clearly boiling up all day and then they gave her alcohol which made it even worse. Also because she was totally right about John and because John's idea of wanting Tiff out in the first place was ridiculous.

You blatantly inferred it "I must be terribly innocent. It never even dawns on me that being white or black or anything in between would matter to anyone ."

I'm not sure why not. It just means you have no experience of something. But it is one of those hot-button words that people use as an insult, where "innocent" sugar-coats the same meaning.

I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow they're all asking if she's all right and mollycoddling her and being very understanding because she had too much to drink.
It will be interesting to see if they do react like that or if they still hold it against her.
Bingo. She came back to hugs and concern about whether she is OK.

Think what you like and twist it how you want . I know what I meant and I know how I feel .

But they're all really just as culpable, because they all knowingly went along with it. Which in a lot of ways is much worse. At least John, Gemma, and Kristina were being honest about what they wanted (but probably not for those exact reasons ...)

What does "white privilege" have to do with where anyone lives?

No one has suggested that racism doesn't exist but because people prefer to see and treat someone as a person rather than regard them as different to them, does not make them ignorant, quite the reverse in fact.

Not just that. There is also the implied sense of willfull ignorance. And that is a very real thing. Sometimes people don't see or acknowledge what they don't want to see no matter how obvious it is.

There is no twisting needed. You inferred that racism doesn't exist when you said 'It never even dawns on me that being white or black or anything in between would matter to anyone .'

I love how they were crying they felt "unsafe" and "threatened" by Tiffany's dramatics the other day - but is anyone worried for their safety after Megan's breakdown and almost bust-up with Tiffany?

I live my life not paying attention to what colour anyone is . I judge on how people are and thst was my only point . I am not making any political statement how others are or are not
Of course not everyone think the same as I do , my point was that between Megan and Tiffany it wouldnt have struck me that it would matter to others . See it ss you wish . I know what I mean the question was why didn't housemates want Megan out and my point was that I wouldnt have given colour a second thought b
But you see it as denying racism exist and so be it . I am not going to stay all night defending myself against something I know I didnt mean

Ideally that is how we all should be and then racism wouldn't exist but sadly it does and we need to acknowledge that not hide behind empty rhetoric.
