I can't say I've heard anyone calling him 'homewrecker Jeremy'. No mention of any 'boy code' about stealing other men's women.

Why is Jeremy such a hero?

I agree, I don't like how Steph's getting (admittedly deserved) shit for her behaviour but he's getting off scot-free for his behaviour.

Because he's a man. I'm not surprised by the sexist double standards of the audience.

Hazel got more flack than Daley, Stephanie's getting more flack than Jeremy.

It's double standards (and probably jealousy).

If you're in a relationship it's your job to protect it. The blame is completely Stephanie's...in the case of Hazel, I never liked her, but it was because of her own personality and actions apart from her interaction with the bloke. He was to blame for it entirely.

I didn't and still don't agree with all the unpleasantness aimed at Hazel. I liked her and I thought Daley got off very lightly all things considered.

I don't see this current situation as comparable, not at all. In fact, by comparing the two you're (all who are comparing) really insulting Hazel. Stephanie is a complete dick, Hazel was not.

Women in the work place actually stand up for sexist men ... Bizarre but true.

And you won't have heard of 'boy code' because I don't believe there is any such thing.

There is such a thing as 'girl code' - not all women/girls stick to it but that is why people make judgements.

I know it's not fair but in situations like this - men and women are not judged in the same way or held up to the same set of rules.

Men and women aren't the same - that's just how it is I suppose.

There's not many things that women are perceived to have 'the power' in but the sex dance is one of them. Men are seen as hopelessly pathetic individuals here who just lose all common sense and every part of them except their dick turns to jelly. Women are seen to remain in control of the situation and consciously capable of deciding whether to continue pulling the strings or not.

chuh! And then they go and bang on about not getting equal pay! Women eh? Eh lads? Am I right?

Completely agree. Jeremy is obviously aware Stephanie has a boyfriend, but she is totally leading him on and giving him all the signals to suggest she likes him. I can't really blame him for acting on them, but I don't think he has done much wrong. With Hazel and Daley, she was the single one of the two, and from memory, Daley wasn't exactly going round declaring his undying love for his girlfriend and always made it seem like they weren't even really together. Daley was extremely controlling over Hazel as well.

I still can't believe there were people who said Hazel was to blame for the way Daley acted. | remember people also saying she'd go running to him when the show was over, and they'd be doing magazine deals and the like. Ha.

There definitely is 'bro code'.

We need to call out this double standard, not just accept it as a set fact that can't change.

That's interesting - I really wasn't aware of it at all. I thought it was a case of all's fair in love and war - a sort of free for all.

Well why would he if it's all only having a laugh and a bit of flirting in your eyes?

I guess it makes sense in a way that women are just expected to be smarter, everyone knows men are dogs anyway.

'girl code' seems to be more on a broader level, meaning women shouldn't do certain things to other women end of, friend or not. 'Bro code' seems to exist on a different level, meaning between actual mates/bros. i could be wrong.

Have you never caught "How I Met Your Mother"? The 'code' got heavily popularised through that show.

He is single. There was a clip of him talking to David where he said he was single. Initially he said it to justify his pursuit of Stephanie which he totally acknowledged.. But then it became clear he knew people would consider his behaviour to be wrong. Then he 'justified' it by saying "but I really like her".

"Bro code" certainly exists. As bad that Scotty may have looked my nominating Steph, that was certainly "bro code". Basically potentially saving his friend because if she goes, he won't be looking as bad because him trying to get on with her makes him look bad. It's about "saving your own".

And this is not sexist at all. But people may call it "sexist", but does that mean that "girlcode" is sexist too? It would mean that. So much double standards.

Other "brocode" rules.

Don't cockblock, don't steal your friends partner, if you see your friends girlfriend cheating on him, tell him and take his side etc...
