I would imagine the only way to do that would be to ask your network if they can disable it from their end.
Does anyone know if this is possible? Why would you want to? If you don't mind me asking. |

You can reduce the number of MMS’s and SMS’s you can receive in your messaging app settings, but not to zero though.
There are still going to be some important SMS’s sent to you by your network provider. How would you know if you are running out of data allowance if you disabled your messaging app, an option which is greyed out in Application manager so you can’t do that anyway. |
