Sound bar keeps switching on automatically when using on demand

Hi all,
Bit of advice needed please!
We have a samsung tv and a samsung sound bar connected via optical. Whenever we watch something on All 4 or BBC player the sound bar automatically switches itself on. In the TV settings only the TV speakers are selected.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

Many thanks!

The optical out is probably enabled all the time. So as soon as you play anything the soundbar detects a signal and switches on.

I'm tempted to ask why this is a problem? If you have a soundbar then use it 24/7 and forget all about the TV's speakers. Bit like buying a dog and barking yourself. Surely the whole point of a soundbar is to improve on the generally crap sound from the TV's speakers so why not use it for everything?
