With my old 9200, when I had it set to start 2 minutes early, then if there were two consecutive recordings set instead of starting one early and chopping off the end of the other it would cause stop and start to revert to the actual time. A very intelligent feature. As far as I can see the 2000T doesn't do this so I lost the end of "Spin" last night as I had 2 recordings starting at 10:00 pm on different channels. The old Humax gear was very good and mainly worked properly in accordance with their specs. The 2000T fails to do what says it does with regards to aspect ratio settings and now I've found this fresh nuisance.

The more I use this 2000T the less I like it. However, if I revert the 2000T to start at actual time does it sometimes chop off the first minute as the 9200 did? I believe this was because it only polled the time once a minute and hence could be up to a minute late.

In our experience (with both the HDR-FOX T2 and the HDR-2000T) accurate recording (start and finish padding zero) works very well on all the major channels although there can be issues on some minor channels. Neither padding nor accurate recording will ever be perfect but for us accurate recording works better.

Thanks, Martin, I'll try it. I can't understand why Humax haven't retained all the things that the 9200 was good at! I also don't find the UI very good when trying to use Utube - you can't enter a URL and the search is poor. I like to watch the World Bowls Tour and finding The current streaming/archive was a real pain. However I've found a much better method - download in 360p mp4 on the PC (YTD downloader) and stick it on a pen drive and stick that in the 2000T! I can then watch it, pause it, stop it, use the forward and backward facility, etc. and at a lower bit rate to save time and usage. The quality is more than adequate for the purpose. It could be that the ability to use a USB drive makes up for its other annoyances - I'm not sure yet.

The issue with consecutive recordings potentially clashing due to overruns / early starts is why I tend to avoid setting timers like this unless they are on the same channel. It helps to have more than one recorder in use to cope with all the peak hour clashes (Sunday evenings are my current main rush hour) but you can try and find alternate showings for some of the programmes or fall back on the catch-up services.

If push comes to shove I drop the recording of BBC programmes as these can be watched on iPlayer without the risk of having to endure the ad breaks from the commercial broadcaster catch up services. But note that some programmes do not appear on catch up due to rights. Live sport is often not on catch up but then you are likely to want to watch this live or chase playing as live anyway over pre-recorded programmes.

If the OP still has their 9200 they could use that to cope with the overflow to eliminate having consecutive recordings on different channels (one or two channels involved is OK, three of more is not). Or have the potential clashes and get used to using the catch up services to see the starts and ends of programmes chopped off.

With the HDR-Fox T2 and the customised firmware you do at least have the option of using the Multi-Mode package (see HERE) to mix and match accurate recording and padding...

Whilst agreeing with the other replies - I make the following observations.
I always use manual padding (2m before, 5m after). As Martin says accurate recording works most of the time on the major channels. However, it still fails enough times for me not to trust it!
I try never to have the possibility of three or more "conflicts" when recording. Therefore, a padded recording finishing at 10pm hasn't finished - so I can't start two more.
If by consecutive recordings you mean two on the same channel, I always record these in one recording by manually setting the timer - however you need to remember these are not automatically padded, you need to do it yourself. Also, the recording will have a name probably unconnected with either programme.
If you need to record 3 overlapping programmes again including "Spin" - "Spin" is repeated around 3am Sunday morning. (usually on Saturday's page of any listings).
I also still bring my old 9150 into service when there are just too many programmes. On rare occasions I even use a PC dongle for those extra recording that I want to save.
