Little Mix

I was a slow burner interms of becoming a fan of the group. However slowly I got in to them and now love them and I am seeing them twice in March in concert. I think " Get Weird" is by far the best album they have done so far as well.

I Posted a thread on here a while ago about Album 3 being make or break for them as I felt they really hadn't done as well as expected . With Album 3 being a huge hit album I think it safe to say it has made them. I really felt another luke warm reception towards this album and it could of been game over. now they are massive and growing. Huge album and singles backed up with a huge forthcoming tour. Secret love song is going to be massive as well.

I hope they grow and grow and become one of the best girl groups off all time.

I've been on board the Little Mix band wagon ever since their X Factor days. Tulisa did brilliantly in coaching them and Don't Let Go will always be the moment Little Mix came into their own.

Cannonball was just winner's single fodder which the girls couldn't really dismiss. Ever since Wings, I think they've excelled as becoming one of Britain's biggest girl groups. They might not be Spice Girls (yet) but the fact they're having their most successful era with their third album is an incredible achievement for a British pop group. Usually by album #3, the fans have started to get bored and move on.

What Little Mix and their team have done with Get Weird is pop genius. They've made solid gold pop music that appeals to a wider audience, and by doing so they will have kids, teenagers, young adults, parents and grandparents loving their music. If your music can appeal to a 13 year old, a 30 year old and a 60 year old then you're doing something right.

That's what Little Mix have achieved this time.

Agree with 100 percent. DNA and Salute didn't win over many Neutral or on the fence Music fans. Get Weird has done that ten fold. I really do think if they released another album like Salute it could off been the end. I love Salute but didn't have to many good choices for killer singles apart from Salute and Move. Get Weird still has several good singles left in it and all of which can and will appeal to new fans. You make a good point about the 3rd album normally being the start of the end for a group like this. well lets hope they continue to grow. LM will never do what the Spice girls did in terms of sales etc etc but then Spice Girls never released a 4th studio album. I think its safe to say that little Mix will be having a 4th studio album.

I admire them for taking a risk because if they had listened to some of their first wave fans they would have put out a more R&B type album. In the event that was actually scrapped and they have won more fans by putting out an album of different pop styles with 'Get Weird'.

I am an older fan but I'm going to see them in April to see if they are as good as I think they are. They can become a great British pop group if they can keep up this continual improvement and create a 4th album as good as this one. I want a bit of rock music on the next one.

'Secret Love Song' is a great pop performance and the girls really outshine Derulo vocally. Their own version of the song being better than the duet. Also, looking back over their videos today, LM have a half decent body of work already.

This might sound odd but when pop acts "try too hard" they end up alienating their loyal fans and struggle to win over new fans.

As much as I loved Move, let's face it that song would never appeal to anyone over the age of 40. Well, maybe a small select group might've liked parts of the song. I use my dad as a barometer of when a pop song has made the grade. He usually moans about most chart music but he likes Love Me Like You. He even said All About That Bass would be #1 when he first heard it although I think that was inevitable, but was still interesting to hear my dad say that before it eventually got there. lol

When pop stars embrace their inner teenybopper and just create genuinely great pop music they will win over new fans. People on here have posted comments about how they don't understand the appeal of Olly Murs. Well, he's simply done what Little Mix are doing now. A single like Dance With Me Tonight was always going to win new fans because that happy upbeat type of pop music appeals to the older generation. Candy by Robbie Williams is another example of this.

Dance With Me Tonight is Olly's biggest selling single in the UK. I'd say it's also the one song that appealed to a wider audience compared to his other #1 singles so it's a no brainer really.

I think Little Mix are the best they've been yet. Wings was quite catchy, and to a lesser extent Change Your Life.

However, it has been Black Magic and other songs from their recent album that has really enabled them to shine through. Although I was initially disappointed that they borrowed the title of Magic Numbers' hit Love Me Like You for their next single, in practice I find it just as enjoyable as Black Magic.

I admit I miss Perrie's blonde look from early days, but their music is the best it's been yet!

Love Me LIke You is such a generic song title though? That's not stealing. There's billions of songs out there, and lots of them have the same name. Ella Eyre has a song called Love Me Like You too, and Ellie Goulding has Love Me Like You Do, why not accuse them of stealing too? lol

Anyway, back to Little Mix, they are brilliant and always have been. I'm a huge fan.

i don't think generational differences in taste are as important in pop music as they used to be. The idea that parents and kids listen to different music is not as clear cut as it once was.

Older people like me moan about chart music partly because there is less rock music in it and because there is less diversity than the 70s or 80s. However, the quality of modern pop songwriting and production has improved - the James Bay and Hozier singles from the last few years for example are excellent. Little Mix have produced a good album and so did Florence last year.
