I know, they are dreadful. No wonder john boy is devastated that, thick as they are, they've sussed him . Oh the horror of being ousted in favour of such persons . No wonder he has fixed his rictus smile and dragged out his jazz hands in the dr to express how very very unbothered he is .

Riight, so you think John wouldn't know that publicly nomming Darren wouldn't make people angry? Okay then.

John was a completely different person at the end of tonight's show, I think it's been the happiest we've seen him in it.

A video on the CBB website suggests he's a little more bothered today but overall I think he'll be just fine walking out of the house with the pay cheque for his mum's care and back to his career. The people booing him the other night probably aren't the musical theater types so he'll be ok.

(I don't think he'll go on Tuesday though)

Really Darren? Because from what I saw one of them then looked up at the cameras, blew the audience a kiss and gave a victory pose... But yeah, generally speaking I imagine it was mostly all about caring for you.”

Poor Darren, it's hard to believe he's that naive but he does seem to be. Or is he playing a game too?

I'm beginning to wonder that. Surely he really isn't that naive - this is one of the biggest love rats/players on TV isn't he?

That's just the 'actor' in him trying to style it out

I'm going to start watching him closely, this last 'gratitude' bit amazes me a bit too.

Re Darren - you have to also remember he's known John for years and by his admission in the Diary room he only met Gemma and Stephanie when he entered the house.

He will have known before he entered the house if John is a nasty so and so that would put his friend up for nomination for the hell of it or he knows John is likely to mean well.

I find it very strange that his opinion of someone he will have developed for years can be affected so easily by two interfering busy bodies who they both met a week ago!

I actually do think he's just that gullible and nothing more sinister but he's really starting to get on my nerves.

I equate John's excuse for nominating Darren 'for his own good' - ye Gods!) to that of an employer letting a <struggling financially> employee 'go' on the principle of 'you should be out there making more of yourself, finding a better paid job, so really I'm doing you a favour. No no, don't bother to thank me lad, you're most welcome. WHO THE HELL DOES HE THINK HE IS!!!
What name??

No I don't think he did. Last years winner nommed his "mates" all the time. He was just better at the "it's for your own good" act

Obviously John's bothered. They're all bothered. But he did what he had to do in the circumstances, put on a brave face, front it out and regroup.

Tomorrow is another day. He's down but not out. And all that.

At least he knows the terrain now and where he stands on it.

I was embarrassed for Darren. He's touched because Gemma and Stephanie care about him and are protecting him from mean old John? Oh please!

Can he pretend to be any more pathetic, gullible, vulnerable and non-threatening? I think he can!

What else would one expect to be honest. He is hardly likely to say he is gutted and break down into a sobbing wreck? Its a bit like those numerous HMs saying they will be happy to go home when they are nominated.

Its all a bit of face saving but I expect we can expect more dramatics should the likes of Gemma or Megan get the same treatment..

I think he has plenty of room to go before he gets to scraping the bottom of that barrel!

He's starting to look like Jack Nicholson in The Shining at times. A bit unhinged in his facial expressions and I'm starting to wonder who the real John is...?

I honestly don't think he is being particularly real or honest with himself - let alone the others. He doesn't want to seem vulnerable or hurt in any capacity and whilst Darren can seem to be a little limp at times - is at least honest with himself and others about what he's feeling.

Yep. I think this is the root of it, he is just not congruent and is working with a carefully constructed persona which has served him well out there in showbiz land (where being fake to get ahead is the norm). Now this persona is being tested in the cauldron of cbb it is beginning to unravel. Will be interesting to watch if he stays in (probably will).

All this nonsense about John doing this to provide financially for care for his mother in her care home drives me mad! How on earth does he think that the rest of us , with normal jobs and ordinary lives (and holding down full time jobs!) provide for our loved ones with dementia? Both of my in-laws ended up in Care Homes with Alzheimers, which had to be funded, as did two of my grandmothers and an elderly spinster aunt of my husband, all with Alzheimers / dementia. It's a ploy for the sympathy vote!

If however I had the opportunity to work for a month to earn enough to pay for my mums care I know I would do it too
And I'm loving Jon in this as he is playing the game so well

Oh good comparison there . He is very "Wendeee, I'm ho-ome" . Demonic eyebrows .
Darren is very fragile . I think that's why he is dodging tiffers, he senses her volatile nature and doesn't want to be on the receiving end when she has one of her tanties .
As for gemma and steph ? well to be fair gemma has mentioned not liking what john did (in retrospect) . Steph was just trying to be a cool and upfront persona . Darren will think about it and work it all out . His dr comments were in the immediate aftermath of a long crazy day and night , but he'll figure it out that it's just words not undying friendship declarations .
As for john and the money to care for mum . Jolly good but lets be honest, he was gagging to do do bb for years. Being a frequent panelist he thought he had it all worked out . Sadly for him the best laid plans tend to go tits up when reality steps in . He went in there all set to take control, and it worked for a few days but in the end they are all z listers fighting for air time and not prepared to play along with his "I'm the king of the castle" agenda . He looks lost now and kristina doesn't help by latching onto him and sitting around weeping on each others shoulders . Very very dull from mr happy-clappy and miss happy hoofer .

I can imagine on one level he might not be. John undoubtedly wanted to win and no doubt was working to that end. Hearing the boos may have told him that is unlikely so now he doesn't have to play the potential winner any more or over think his actions.

I really hope John stays in the house longer than Gemma. I've always liked him and nothing he's done in the house has changed my opinion of him. Really don't want him to go.

He was shocked when they chanted him, but delighted no one has forgot what he or Kristina are like
