Morning twass, gloriously sunny day here today, better make the most of it as SNOW is forecast for the weekend!

Errrrr, rubbish actually.

I'm bloody sick to the back teeth hearing about Lizzie's birthday........I DON'T CARE! We could all live to a ripe old age if we were cosseted as she is!
All the bloody brown noses sending gifts or lying out in the street hoping to get a glimpse of her (just in the vain hope they'll be near enough to her to hand her a tacky bunch of flowers), do they really think she cares.
A ginormous cake has just been delivered to her from Spielberg (I think), it could feed a whole country, families are having to go to foodbanks to exist & this sponger gets everything handed to her on a plate!
For her party, tickets to the event are £100, so that excludes the ordinary person (if they wanted to go).
I don’t care either. She happened to be in the right place at the right time when she was born and she hasn’t screwed up to badly. So what.

Had what I thought was my final hospital check up yesterday and fond out it wasn’t and I have to go back in six months to check for cataracts. Was really worried at first but I have googled and spoken to people since and it seems it’s no big deal. I haven’t noticed any problems with my lens and if I do need an operation I should be able to see with improved vision the next day.

Tasting dinner tonight. I shall try to enjoy it.

Ooh! Is it like that menu you posted once before? Little bits of posh this and that? You will enjoy it I feel sure Cataract ops are very routine nowadays and as you say, you'd have better vision from the day after surgery as soon as the drops wear off.

I've been out for posh breakfast! I had eggs benedict florentine...sitting on spinach instead of ham or smoked salmon. Absolutely lush! Myself and two of my cat wimmin enjoyed ourselves and although we were meant to be meeting for cat business none of that got done

It is that dinner. I shall have to try not to eat too much.

Posh breakfast sounds nice. I think the last time I had eggs benedict was in Tahoe in a café overlooking the lake.

Cataract ops are very very successful, a friend of mine had both her eyes done last year.

I'm going.... HERE.... in July........I fear it'll be a waste for me. I'm not in the least a foodie. A Michelin star restaurant isn't my thing.

My daughter got us a vouchr for a tasting lunch there a few years ago. It was OK but I found the food a bit salty and i read the reviews at the time and other people found it the same – I use little salt so things I find salty are often fine for thers. It may have changed. I remember one of the dishes was a pigeon pithivier.

I dislike food where every mouthful tastes the same so I enjoy posh food and fancy stuff.

I don't even know what that is, & it's highly unlikely I would even try pigeon!
I find what I consider 'poncy food', to be more annoying than make me excited to eat them. I find them very pretentious.

I'm a peasant & I don't mind holding my hands up to that.

That menu does look very pretentious I must say SR. What on earth is a gurnard when it's at home At the end of the day, I prefer a plateful of something hearty and tasty than an endless number of tiny little pretty dishes of one or two forkfuls each, As for a pre-starter AND a starter.................

Yep, I just decided you weren't having them. As you know, Thursdays are for Emmerdale. End of.

Now go away and start serving drinks. Chin will be here soon and we'll be having our dinner whilst watching Emmerdale.

I love poncy food. My palate is pretty good and I can usually name most of the ingredients in a dish. One of the worst thing about the flu i had (had a letter saying the swabs said I had swine flu) was that my tastes were totally screwed.

I go through phases of really liking something and going off it. Currently I’m into mushrooms stuffed with mincemeat, Southern fried chicken and colslaw, and black pudding with mango chutney. Gone off Mexican food and not to keen on fish at the moment.

Never heard of it

I love fish though. My tastes stay largely the same. Ordinary food for preference. Fish n chips from the chippy is very hard to beat with mushy peas
