Good morning

Another fine morning here. Very sunny. It's going to reach 18c today. Lovely.

Is it? Who cares, they're all mad!

I've never seen a Star Wars film or Star Trek.

I beg your pardon. We are not all mad. I'll have you know that I am a graduate of the Star Fleet Academy and a member of many years standing. My membership certificate (one of my most precious possessions) is signed by Captain Sulu, a man that has visited more solar systems than you have had hot dinners.

A Romulan vapour tea please.

’d affernoon.

The pigeon that has been fluttering in our sitting room chimney for over a week has eventually fallen into the hearth. Alive but very skinny. It’s not totally weak but I don’t think it can fly ’cos its wings look as if they might be damaged. We put it on the patio with food and water but the wind is blowing it over so Mr G is making a bed for it in an unused chicken house. If the silly thing had just fallen straight down if wouldn’t have been stuck there for days. It was surprisingly clean, only its tail was sooty.

It was strong enough to last a week in the chimney but it’s pretty wiped out. It is somewhere sheltered, warm and comfortable with food and water and a clear escape route if it feels up to it.

Me too but I’m also glad it hasn’t died wedged in the chimney. I wish it had come straight down as they usually do. The chimney is well guarded to stop the cats going up it and I’m used enough to catching chickens that I can easily catch and hold a bird in the hearth and put it outside. The one that came down before this one landed when Mr G was out and I caught it and put it outside single handed. It was pre-Shadow and Willow, though.

Well as you say, it has a chance now. It's up to nature what happens next.
