Afternoon SR, planets, Gemo and all pubster peeps! Prosecco, at only four something? How very decadent....oh go on then

Those biscuits look amazing. I love Amaretti! Are they the ones wrapped in printed tissue paper? There's a way of lighting them so they rise up in the air

I had a lovely Christmas. At first I thought it would be just me and Mr G and then we had both children and their partners. First time we’ve all been here for Christmas in nine years but even better than then because my daughter and her husband took charge and did all the cooking… and I got everything on my list.

Don’t mind if I do, thanks.

There you go *clunk*

Mr G is now spring my new passport. He seems to be in takeover mode at the moment.

I wonder if it will work if I get the ironing board out.

It's worth a shot if you've a mountain of ironing! Most of it will be his anyhow. Men and their shirts

There’s not that much ironing and it’s the one thing he never does. I dry things over radiators so they never need much pressing so one the rare occasions when he has needed to do washing (when I’ve been in hospital) things don’t get ironed.

I don’t mind ironing. I got a super steam iron in an Amazon sale last year and a massive ironing board to work on. Things look really good very quickly. My daughter has brought things down with her to iron in the past.

’d afternoon.

I am. I went out on New Years’ Eve and slept most of yesterday.

The day before we went out for a chair for my desk and ended up getting a coffee table. Found a really good way of sorting. Get so far, ask Mr G what I should do something and then sit back while he takes over.
Ahhhhh there you are!
Okaaaaay..........

Sounds like a plan to me.
I hope you all enjoyed your celebrations and got lots of lovely Christmas presents.
I did thanks, hope you did too. Oh & HNY to you & yours.

Morning.

I quite like it when things get back to normal, especially when they return to normal with several improvements.

OMG! You wouldn't believe the morning I've had..........1st of all the other day I had picked up a prescription got it home & discovered it was the wrong size needles, took it back & had to wait until another script was made out & then collected the correct needles.
I then had to order more insulin, & needed it before the surgery/pharmacy closed for the holidays (until tomorrow).
Finished the last of the insulin in the Kwik pen last night so this morning took a new one of of the fridge to leave it at room temp. Had a look at it & realised ot wasn't the same as the original pen as I thought the one I had was a throwaway one (which it is).
Decided to go to Boots (10-00am) to see if they were open today, they were & the pharmacist there had a look in her medi book & said the new insulin was for a different pen, so not any good for me.
She then phoned St Johns hospital who eventually phoned her back to tell her they had one pack but would need to make sure a patient didn't need it. Finally they phoned back to say I could have it, but they closed at 3-00pm & I would also have to see an out of hours GP as they couldn't just give it out without a script!
By this time it was almost midday & the pharmacist had said she'd phoned the on call GP & as he was dealing with patients she would call me & let me know which medical practise he was working from & I could go there & collect script. If I'd phoned I could have been waiting for several hours in a queue & more than likely miss the hospital pharmacy.

I then picked up what I needed from Asda & was ready to drive home when I had a call from St Johns, a really nice GP told me he couldn't write out a script for the hospital pharmacy but he'd managed to get an A&E doc to sign it. Phew!
Went to A&E & picked up said script & then on to the pharmacy.
Finally got home just before 1-30pm!

What a bloody palaver, but at least I got it sorted. I have to say the pharmacist in Boots couldn't have been any more helpful. She went beyond & above her job. I'll have to hand in a card & some flowers, she was so so helpful.
Of course all this has to happen when it's a public holiday & my health centre & the next door pharmacy are closed!

Afternoon all. *pours self very large spritzer* *sluuuuuuuuurp*
