Afternoon all peeps!

Good morning hooter, twassington and Sr. Just seen a programme about coffee with butter. Sounds a bit bleurgh to me but here you go. *clunk* *clunk* *clunk*
*sniffs coffee suspiciously* Butter? In COFFEE???? Thanks, I think, Gemo!

OMG! You wouldn't believe the morning I've had..........1st of all the other day I had picked up a prescription got it home & discovered it was the wrong size needles, took it back & had to wait until another script was made out & then collected the correct needles.
I then had to order more insulin, & needed it before the surgery/pharmacy closed for the holidays (until tomorrow).
Finished the last of the insulin in the Kwik pen last night so this morning took a new one of of the fridge to leave it at room temp. Had a look at it & realised ot wasn't the same as the original pen as I thought the one I had was a throwaway one (which it is).
Decided to go to Boots (10-00am) to see if they were open today, they were & the pharmacist there had a look in her medi book & said the new insulin was for a different pen, so not any good for me.
She then phoned St Johns hospital who eventually phoned her back to tell her they had one pack but would need to make sure a patient didn't need it. Finally they phoned back to say I could have it, but they closed at 3-00pm & I would also have to see an out of hours GP as they couldn't just give it out without a script!
By this time it was almost midday & the pharmacist had said she'd phoned the on call GP & as he was dealing with patients she would call me & let me know which medical practise he was working from & I could go there & collect script. If I'd phoned I could have been waiting for several hours in a queue & more than likely miss the hospital pharmacy.

I then picked up what I needed from Asda & was ready to drive home when I had a call from St Johns, a really nice GP told me he couldn't write out a script for the hospital pharmacy but he'd managed to get an A&E doc to sign it. Phew!
Went to A&E & picked up said script & then on to the pharmacy.
Finally got home just before 1-30pm!

What a bloody palaver, but at least I got it sorted. I have to say the pharmacist in Boots couldn't have been any more helpful. She went beyond & above her job. I'll have to hand in a card & some flowers, she was so so helpful.
Of course all this has to happen when it's a public holiday & my health centre & the next door pharmacy are closed!

Afternoon all. *pours self very large spritzer* *sluuuuuuuuurp*
FFS! All that blooming palaver. They know from your history you need the feckin insulin. Well, at least you got it and thatnk goodness the pharmacist was on the ball. I imagine you'd not have been well having to do without for a day

does that mean the OH has decorated the living room over the Chrimbo break?
Nah. We got new furniture. A wall needed repairing because some eject that put up guttering about 10 years ago cut a hole in the back of it to go round an obstacle and caused damp and damage to a chimney. All that has been sorted apart from part of a wall which does need some wallpaper replacing. To hide this missing wallpaper we got a new TV table. Liked that so much we got a new bookcase, liked that so much I was going to get a new desk but the kids came round and pointed out we had a desk so moved the desk and got a new sideboard, went for a chair to go under said desk and got a new coffee table.

I still need a chair.

The ceiling are so high in the house we need professional decorators and I like the French style of walls with character.

My bathroom has been improved too.

Mr G got me Glitter Lips (seen on Dragon’s Den and then on my daughter) for Christmas so I thought I would make the effort and get made up for New Years Eve dinner. He fitted the magnifying mirror in my bathroom and I decided I wanted a storage unit for my new make up. Got one of these which works really well. A slightly smaller similar unit cost almost twice as much.

You are such a moaner!
In all seriousness i'm glad the NHS and the lovely Boots pharmacist sorted you out and you can get back to your charming self.
I will take a drink if there is a wee dram going free just for the New Year and that?
Happy New Year to all pubsters.
Love the new smilies, it's about time!

Very sorry to hear this. A living nightmare for you. I'm just pleased that you were lucky enough to come across decent, helpful people.
