iPhone 5s issue
Hi,
I had an iPhone 5s for Christmas. The phone is ok and unlike my 5c I am now able to pick up a phone call every time the phone rings. Hoeever, I've noticed the battery drains really quickly, sometimes when I have put it on to charge the battery indicator jumps from 16% to 2% or vice versa and it doesn't pick up a good mobile or wifi signal. Is this normal for the 5s or do I have a dodgy model? |

Is it a brand new 5s ?
Some of the older models did have battery problems and apple had a free battery replacement program going. not sure if it's still running though. |

The battery issue was with the original 5, not the 5s.
That isn't normal behaviour for the 5s, I'd take it into Apple to be checked if it's still under warranty if a restore doesn't sort it (do a back up in iTunes and then restore the phone). |

I have tried doing a restore by pressing reset all settings earlier today but still no joy. Every time I try and back it up using iTunes I keep getting an error message saying requested resource not found.
Unfortunately the warranty has expired. Does this mean Apple may charge an arm and leg to look into the issue or not look at it at all. |

Switch off the iPhone. Hold down the home button while connecting it to your computer (make sure the device is off before plugging it in and iTunes is running). Keep the home button held down until your phone turns on and says recovery mode. iTunes should prompt you that a device is connected in recovery mode. This should work as a workaround for the error message. Quote:

Out of warranty replacement is £199 iirc.
