Hi there
I've got a lovely little Kindle Fire HD7 (the last model without the SD card slot).
I watch a lot of movies on it, but have been having trouble recently with a lack of memory space.
I also have an old Samsung S3 Mini phone, which has loads of space on the memory card, which I had been using to store movies on. I then started up the "portable Wi-Fi hotspot" on the phone, and ran an app called "WifFi File Transfer". This allowed me to copy the file to my Kindle via the browser.
However, with space now at a premium on the Kindle, I'd love to be able to stream the movies directly from the phone to the Kindle.
I've had limited success with this using - 'downloading' the file with VLC or MXPlayer on the Kindle, but certain files just won't stream - I have a mix of MP4, MKV and ACHVD files.
If I can get a file to stream at all, then I usually cannot navigate through the video (fast forward to a previously watched point), with the video restarting from the beginning each time I try anything.
I've been looking at buying a wireless router/access point device (Hootoo Tripmate), but I reckon there MUST be a proper way to stream video from my phone! I just haven't hit on the the magic formula...
Do any of you good people out there know the best APPs to use (for the Server end and the Client end)?
I hope someone can help me - it's getting to the point I'm looking at buying a different tablet just so I can use USB OTG!
Thanks for any help!
