Really good Sky Quali pre-show. 1 or 2 features particuarly the quiz was funny, not smug and quite lengthy (although not sure on the shoe-horned sponsored shell question!)

Often do not like those games, but that was really good fun.
Might have been more to do that Croft always does that sort of thing so well and having the bonus of Sky Italy/Germany there.
Kimi is good fun when he comes out of his shell!
Very interesting qualy features too, often think that Monaco makes it all seem more interesting with its history and uniqueness.

Love the crane on board there!

I gave up before the quiz, but will have to check it out. Maybe they are trying to get back in Shell's good books and get some sponsorship from them - V-Power is a great brand fit, better than deodorant advertised by showing its users getting wet! The trouble with limited filming days...

Anyway, the reason I gave up was that Sky had a 5 minute piece on the 1996 GP, where only 4 people finished, 3 on the lead lap. They somehow managed to not mention or show David Coulthard (who finished second) in this entire piece, apart from a brief shot. This is just petty and makes Sky look awful. My memory is getting worse, but I thought the reason Panis won was that he didn't make a pit stop (a very rare thing), a fact that wasn't mentioned or discussed at all.

I forgot, I was gonna mention that, It was very poor from Sky. Especially as they showed the result and Simon blanked out DC in 2nd.

At least it was better than their awful 1996 Spanish GP retrospective in that this one actually featured comments from those involved.

Sky always blank Coulthard on features like that, it really is childish. Other than that I enjoyed their coverage today.

I see that Whisper Films have tweeted a picture of Steve Jones talking to a member of One Direction in the Monaco pit lane. Are they really going to waste time in their highlights show to bring us this interview? Hopefully not.

Catching up on Qualifying on C4, what was wrong with the camera-person in the pit lane when Karun was doing his piece to camera? Couldn't stay still for more than a second at a time, had to keep jiggling about and altering the angles. So off-putting and nausea-inducing, I wish they wouldn't do it.

Just as a follow up to this - thankfully, it was only uploaded to the C4 website. Solid broadcasts from both Sky and C4 today. The same can't be said for TMC, but I won't bore you all with my complaining again.

That McLaren piece from Channel 4 was beautiful.

But this was funny. This was them actually, properly telling us "you know how you *think* we don't talk about David Coulthard? Hey, we'll PROVE to you, unequivocally, that we don't talk about David Coulthard".

It was that blatant it was almost like an in-joke. My only surprise was that they didn't even cut the quick shot of his face from the podium ceremony.

It's incredibly annoying and very distracting. It used to happen on the BBC too, so presumably it's the same cameraman.

Karun is excellent, really perceptive and and insightful. He was wasted in the first couple of races, so good to see how much better use they're making of him in the last couple.

I think it's this video - McLaren on Youtube: 50 Years Of F1 | Presented by Richard Mille

I would have preferred orange liveried McLaren cars for this weekend. But it's Ron's team, so it's dark grey as usual...

Am I stoopid? Can't find qualifying on SkyGo catch up (29/05/16 04:40)

It was a strange quiz, clearly put together by Shell in exchange for their branding all over the place - not sure where the line is before product placement rules kick in. The non-UK Sky broadcasters didn't seem to add a lot of value, could be more awkwardness in the future as the teams become more integrated. Interestingly Tanja has tweeted a link to a YouTube version of the quiz on an account belonging to the most prolific uploader of F1 content, and one of FOM's top targets for copyright violations.

Must admit, never even noticed the Shell stuff when I first watched it.
So just had a second look now and noticed a few shell logos, one on Crofts podium and one on Kimi's podium, Shell Heli or Helix, whatever that is. The ones on Kimi/Seb's shirt are there anyway?
Ads just normally drop into the background for me during F1, much like on track, as I'm watching the action or in this case the contestants. So perhaps that's why I never noticed.

Just checked Sky Go and the qualy, teds notebook and Practice 1/2 highlights are all there listed under Latest Race tab.
Both the f1 shows are there too under the F1 show tab.

(4 hrs later, apologies for self-replying)

I can see qualifying listed as forthcoming repeats etc.

Does this mean it isn't allowed On Demand until all broadcast repeats are redundant? (Not whining, just wanting to plan)

Mildly interesting that I'm still unaware of the Qualy result despite searches, my only strategy avoiding BBC homepage. Times have changed,

Thanks for checking lettice. I can only see Q Highlights, Ted's Q and Thurs Practice (highlights) under Latest Race.

Ahh, Monaco.. it's almost time for a critique of #C4F1... #sexbox #orange_squash #crazy_dave #skinny_jeans #HRTs_finest #not_twitter

I'm sharpening my (metaphorical) knife, but what in the world of FOM will it be aimed at???

But the original McLaren F1 car at Monaco in 1966 was white with a green stripe. The orange livery originated with the 1967 Can-Am cars and wasn't seen in F1 until 1968.

Can't believe the director didn't follow Hulkenberg and Rosberg on the final lap there. Shocking.

Directing through that race was abysmal.

Missed a lot, Was far too late picking things up & at times was showing cars who were not really doing anything worth showing at a point when the top 2 were separated by half a second.
