Eurosport Player tends to sit around 15 secs behind the WEC app/RLM

Getting annoyed trying to sync everything up. Shame the WEC app doesn't have the main feed without commentary (those two guys are coma inducing) like EP with ambient audio.

Got my laptop plugged into the TV streaming Eurosport video and RLM audio. Using the WEC app for onboards and live timing...

Will crack the ideal setup at somepoint

AKA the LM24 'International Dirty Feed'.

Personally not too bothered with syncing, as Eurosport Player is prone to buffering anyway. RLM aren't always calling the pictures on their monitors either.

FOM have uploaded an onboard around Baku from the Medical Car.

Thanks for the link, appreciated!

Also, my god that medical car understeers like a bitch! The tyre-squeal was BAD!

For me:
RLM Audio stream is 20secs behind live,
RLM Studio vision is 25 secs behind live,
and Eurosport Player's feed is 30 secs behind live.

So thankfully it's not too difficult to sync up for me, although YouTube's live player has a habit of removing any delay you've put in the video every few secs, which is annoying Sadly that's out of RLM's hands of course as it seems to be a quirk with their live player.

I know they say that "We're not a video service" etc. etc. but I do feel that it's just wrong to watch Le Mans without their commentary synced up, and I much prefer them to the other commentators (Both Eurosport & World Feed). And I think in the race they do commentate on what's happening on the TV feed more.

I suggested to them on Twitter that they could have a video feed that's literally just the session clock (plus their audio), which would save on bandwidth vs the normal studio-vision channel (As while they route the regular Audio feed through more reliable methods to their website, the youtube feed was going via satellite internet, which was dropping out cos of the rain - if you're just sending video of a clock, rather than a proper webcam feed, then the bandwidth needed can be much lower), for those that just want to sync RLM with the TV feed, but they weren't having any of it :/

I'd run the RLM mp3 audio stream on VLC and pause it for 10 seconds (or whatever time difference), resetting it every so often, or when necessary to sync with 'live' Eurosport Player.

How come second practice isn't on 4Seven / HD? since it's been replaced with horse racing on Channel4 / HD? not all of us have More4 HD since it's a paid channel.
Surely 4Seven / HD endless schedule of crappy repeats can be shifted to More4 / HD for more important dual sport event days, it's going to end up like the BBC with all practice sessions demoted to SD

4Seven HD ins't available on Satellite by the way, only Freeview. I guess because they don't want to confuse viewers by suddenly showing live, exclusive content. 4Seven is explicitly for only repeats from the past seven days.

It's a bit poor. I know that's not what 4Seven is about, but I'm not sure anybody would really care.

GP2 qualifying postponed till later today.
Not too sure from watching that the cause, but suppose we will get the rundown in practice 2.

Great layout this track, makes for some great onboard viewing especially round turns 7-10.

Reminds me of the Macau GP circuit, but with concrete walls instead of Armco. Hopefully there won't be any F3 Macau-style massive accidents.

I find it hypocritical that Jenson is complaining about the track layout etc. only now. The exact layout, mockups, plans etc. have been available for months for anyone to view.
He also (presumably) would have been able to join in on the numerous track inspections by the FIA if he was that worried. Also his team-mate's a damn ambassador for the track!

They postponed because the F1 running before-hand had damaged the kerbs.

Other way around, the kerbs damaged the tyres and it appears it might have been caused by track vehicles running over them.

Channel4+1 HD is though rite? maybe they could timeshare bandwidth and knockout Channel4+1 HD for a few hours to create another channel, the content will probably be repeated on 4Seven over the next 2 weeks anyway.
The fact they have 3 HD slots but can't dedicate one to F1 is extremely poor.

But the question is, are they still showing the session FTA and live and if that is the case then they don't need to do anything. There is no obligation that it has to be HD and this is only a FP session.
I'd be more pissed if they did this to the race

I wouldn't mind paying £10 a month for sky sports via nowtv inline with movies and entertainment pricing, but £30 a month + extra for ppv is a ripoff, you'd think nowtv would offer all 3 passes together for £30 a month rewarding brand loyality, they'd get a hell of a lot more customers

I have to say that I quite like this track so far based on FP1/FP2.

Seems very bumpy in places & very fast for a street circuit. Turn 13 is a bit tighter than it looked on the track maps so its not easy flat & the 18/19 section at the end of the lap is flat but still a pretty fun section & there’s a bump on the entry to 18 that caused some to go a little wide & have to lift slightly.

It also looks like its fairly challenging for the drivers which is nice.

OK, so in order to add a new channel onto your EPG (Freesat, Sky, Freeview whatever), You need to inform Ofcom first.

You will then need to pay for and hope you get EPG numbers for this new channel from all of the above providers.

You then have to ensure everybody retunes in time to pick up this new channel.

You would also have to notify Ofcom & get approval from them to alter the running hours of Channel 4+1 HD (Which is also not available on Freesat I might add, only freeview). So to do that for a 90 minute session is frankly overkill.

You can't just flick a swtich & swap channels over - it doesn't work like that.

Yes, same here. It's great to watch.

Shame Mercedes are in another postcode, though...

Looks like Sky have adjusted their schedule to show the GP2 qualifying at 4pm, with The F1 Show pushed back half an hour to 5pm.
