Sky really made a mess with the track limit debate by constantly going on about Luffield which isn't one of the corners the FIA mentioned this morning. They didn't figure out until Q3 that it was only Copse, Stowe & Club the FIA were looking at & it took a tweet from Nigel Mansell for them to notice.

Croft also kept incorrectly going on about Magnussen having times deleted for running off at Abbey when his time was actually deleted for going wide at Stowe.

Magnussen's first lap was deleted for running wide at Abbey. At least that's what the Race Control message said on live timing, anyway, so he was obviously just going off that information.

They must have put the wrong message up then (I didn't see it as I was watching one of the OnBoards) as they wouldn't delete times for going wide at Abbey given how the general profile of that part of track as well as there been actual grass on the runoff means you lose a lot of time if you go wide there.

A GP3 car actually got a little airborn after running wide at Abbey earlier during qualifying this morning.

I'm disappointed with Channel 4's post session analysis. Toto Wolff spoken to twice, the FOM press conference rather than waiting for the drivers to head to the pen. Hopefully more online.

C4 have far too many pundits. They look awkward just standing there.

That's because they had to leave for the horses. I'm sure they would have stretched it to finish at 3 if they could.

Nico's been summoned to the stewards

"The Mercedes driver was judged to have exceeded the maximum time between the two safety car lines at the start of Q1.

A statement issued by the FIA said that he would have to explain later why he had breached Article 27.5 of the Sporting Regulations for "exceeding the maximum time set by the FIA between the Safety Car line after the pit exit and Safety Car line before the pit entry at 13.05."

Rosberg could be given a grid penalty, a reprimand or fine for the offence if he is found guilty." (Motorsport.com)

Sounds like you missed the notification sent out from the app that asked you to create a userid when F1 access finally went live, was sometime back.
Just email them showing details of your original google play payment and your f1 userid/password, if you created one.
They will then add f1 access for you.

Yip terrible from them kept going on about track limits where it was not relevant.

F1 has losts it's why with track limits. If we were interested in line calls would we not be watching the tennis? Something has gone very wrong when the best thing that can be said about an F1 car is it's relative position to a white line.

The media need to learn to be careful when listening to the twitter fans.

Another farce the article does not even apply. Just watching willy wonka and charlie broke article 27b when he stole the fizzy lifting juice.

F1 heading in to wonka style madness. There was according sky an amazing disappearing reappearing and then disappearing Mclaren between Q1 and Q2.

F1 is a complete joke. There's almost as many rules and regulations now as the UK tax system.

I thought C4's Quali coverage was very good, fun, enjoyable with some good VT's, especially the Freddy Hunt piece and the go karts with the McLaren drivers old vs new!
Shame Eddie Jordan is on there because he makes me have homicidal tendencies with the total shite he spouts!
But was very happy with the coverage.

Thoughts on Sky's? (From those who watched)

Never watched CH4 coverage before might give it a try tomorrow for some parts at least.

Yes, impressive work from Channel 4 today, and the content of the pre-race show was surprisingly different.

Only point which seemed rather off was the editing of the Freddie Hunt interview, where they used the same clip of him crying to answer two different questions.

Really enjoyed the Channel 4 coverage today, the Mercedes, Lewis & Nico digs & music choices as they showed there various on track battles leading in to several advert breaks where amusing.

Some of the # are pretty funny to.

EJ is a provocateur pundit, like Geoffrey Boycott or the late Brian Clough. They rarely 'sit on the fence' on any given issue.

I thought Channel 4s build up was great, it's the half hour after where they didn't really have a plan as to how to fill 30 minutes before the horsies.

Yep agree. Pre-quali from C4 was as good as any broadcaster has ever given us - perfect mix of last race, a bit of history, fun with drivers, and a sit down interview. Even loved the soft rock / cheesy pop pre-break VTs of Nico/Lewis coming-togethers - "It started with a kiss" indeed!

Post quali (and race) has been a more bumpy path for C4. I'm not going to criticise them for showing the press conference after us here have moaned whenever it's been skipped, but it feels like they make the decision they only have enough time to cover one team, then struggle to fill that time. Having said that Webber again showed how great he is at this telly lark - the absolute joy and passion he displayed while talking through Lewis' lap was a joy to behold. Maybe Sky did better than I think they did, but I have no appetite to see how the older suits over there reviewed it.

Don't your dare name the great Sir Geoffrey alongside that joker and that nihilist.

They're all forthright in their opinions, but all very different individuals in character. Your reply is exactly why I've described them as provocateurs.

Just wondering, is the Eurosport commentary of the Supercup race with Martin Haven and Tom Gaymor off-tube? The commentary sounds louder than the actual cars..

As far as I'm aware, the Porsche's are always done off-tube.

"F1 on Sky Sports brought to you by DHL"

No, it's sponsored by DHL. It's "brought to me" by my expensive Sky subscription, thanks very much.

Channel 4 coverage has had me laughing my head off a few times already, especially the 'outtake' in the McLaren when it got dinged!!

Totally agree.

The piece with Lewis climbing up the fencing and JH was messy.

Some great gp2 and gp3 this weekend.
Do they have Jacques commentary at the silverstone track, it seemed at some points he was re-explaining a lot of the series.
